This is kind of what I wanted RE4 to be when I was a kid in 2005. Actually scary, well written, limited resources, stealth meets horror. What holds this game back from greatness isn't anything Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks did; it was something the Benevolent hyper-intelligent nihilanth architect of the post-singularity simulation we all live in, John Carmack did. Mega Texture was not a bad idea on paper. However, even with a monster machine from 2025 armed with a super fast SSD, Id Tech 5 still struggles to load textures in a timely fashion. This takes a beautiful game and gives it the peformance output of a 45 year-old, blue haired Bernie Sanders voter with constipation or Hugh Hefner a day before he can renew his blue pill script. Take your pick. Both are pathetic. But it's still a good horror game and back in the terrible times that were 2013-2014, sometimes good was enough for horror fans.

While I wouldn't call this game "survival" horror, it's definately a great horror title, which was rare for those days. After Resident Evil 4 killed the survival horror genre, everybody was trying to get themselves some of those sweet sweet action horror shekels. EA is no exception. But Visceral did a great job before EA butchered them. Dead Space 2 world be nice too if EA plays nice with CD Projekt and GOG. They could make some good monies and you won't have to resort to downloading that God forsaken EA app. So send EA a message and buy this game on GOG. Maybe we will get the other two titles in the future.

Originally bought this on my PS4 Pro but every time I got to the Madonna and Child statue before Celeste's room, my console's fan would go nuts and would shut down or crash or something. Heard another person had the same issue, but I just had to finish it. So I bought it again on PC. Finished it in one sitting and that's kind of what makes this game great. It's fun and doesn't over stay it's welcome. Wish they'd fix the console version but it's been 6 years and I think they're still paying off Jodie Foster for using her likeness so I don't think that'll happen. Still... good enough to buy twice.

Silent Hill is my jam if you haven't noticed. Glad to see this port running good and at 1080p. Wish we could do 60 frames but I don't even think the Original XBox could pull that off. Still the game I remember 20 years later. Awesome lore if you have an understanding of the first 4 games. It's kind of a sequel to 2 but if you watch The Real Silent Hill Experience, they break down how Walter was another vector for the cult to birth their god. Anyways, if you like good horror games then Silent Hill 1-4 are a must.

ID was nice enough to give me the remaster of Quake 2 free aS an update since I've owned Quake 2 for years. Disney is Disney though. Not even a discount for OG owners of this game. I'm not surprised. Disney has this thing going where they're more concerned with destroying franchises for the sake of EDI for they're Black Rock investors, punishing fans for the sake of revenge and pushing commie nonsense on us plebs while they rack up billions of dollars on our nostolgia. You know, capitalism for me, communism for thee. Don't buy this. LucasArts is gone. George Lucas is gone. None of the original developers and creators are benefiting from this. Just Bob Iger and his and his EDI peddaling chronies at Black Rock. Vote with your wallet becasue your money is the only vote that sends these slimeballs packing. P.S. Iger sends tons of money to his buddy Benjamin to fund his missle "defense" system. You know, the one that "defends" against Churches, Mosques and Hospitals. Just something to consider.
