If you are a fan of the Infinity Engine style games like Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, or Pillars of Eternity, you will love this game.
I quite enjoyed Shadows of Undrentide and what I had played of the original campaign (playing an arcane spellcaster at the lower levels is a unique challenge that is simply not found in todays games) the thing that really sold it for me was the Kingmaker premium module that came with it. That was one adventure that had a near flawless pacing and blend of social intrigue and challenging encounters.
