Own it on steam, have dozens of hours. 100+ lvl character for the hell of it. Had to beat the game, multiple times, to get there... and then found out the developers included that as an expectation of the players & story. The short version: you have a cyberpunk world mixed with warhammer 40k. For lack of better terms, it's during the dark age of technology when bullets still mattered and humanity never met xenos. You can install cybernetics that break physics, buy weapons that could instakill grizzly bears (there is a handgun called the bearkiller), and get mind powers that let you teleport into some NPC where they explode and you take their place in a gruesome, fatal teleportation ritual. You can hack people into an aneurysm. Or go co-op and do all of this to each other for funsies. Long Version: Okay, so, here's the jist of the RL devs existence. Some mod makers got a job. The dropped their 40k headcanon into a game and had to meet deadlines. That is literally it. You will notice it once you start playing. They got another job after this, making another 40k game you don't know about. This is the one you want to play, though. They added their headcanon to this game in a way that's both interesting and fun. If you want to experience the full game, and get all its powers, you have to beat it at least 3 times in esoteric ways each time. This is addition to knowing how to either speak french, or know how to install the community translation patch (which is still cryptic because the script is still pretty bad if you want to understand anything.) Regardless of any of this, the game does way more than a lot of others. Every level can be returned to with random objectives, you can earn everything in time, new game + has a reason to exist in the storyline, and you can co-op it from start to finish because everything is basically a glorified MP server. Get it and the community translation patch. It's just one of those things. also: "You'll earn brouzouf."
