The YouTube reviews impressed me enough to purchase the game. Yet, within 30 minutes I will be requesting yet another refund from GOG. When will developers start mentioning that character movement is restricted to WASD keys? It would save time--for myself and for GOG as I refund the game--to state this in your description. Further, the 360 motion makes me ill and I have never been able to play such games. When will vendors start requiring this information be included? How much time does GOG/Steam waste generating refunds for games purchased less than an hour ago? Off to look for something else...which is disappointing as I truly wanted to play this game.

After 3 attempts to play, I couldn't get any of my characters to pass the Factory and I have requested a refund. Game does offer point-and-click movement (albeit a right mouse click). Graphics are acceptable, puzzles can be a challenge but there is too much stay within the lines. You can't randomly kill anyone, there are only certain places/people that you can steal from and even on the Hero level (easiest), I still had difficulty completing combats. Players are encouraged to save frequently! Game play has you doing quests: visit here; talk to this person; retrieve this item. It was okay, but it limiting in scope. In comparison to other games where you gain experience to increase your stats, Colony Ship allows you to increase Feats only. This is different than most other games. For me it was yet another limitation. The TRAVEL option is quite handy as you move from area to area within the ship. I hope that others have a better experience than I did.

I bought Starcom: Nexus which I found to be enjoyable. Further, I bought Unknown Space while it was still in Early Development. I continue to learn and find new things I missed in previous playthroughs. The game is balanced, you don't always win, you can die often, but still be willing to jump back in right away. There are some long lulls. So, I decided to explore the entire map (still working on that task). There are systems/planets that seem to pop up in explored space only because the plot line says they should be there now. Ship crafting is much better than Nexus. With better designs, easy adaptability, I 'feel' like this is a real ship and it's mine! I look forward to continued improvements but it's already a solid game and worthy of your investment. Don't miss out.

Don't let the age of this game prevent you from investing hours upon hours trying to tweak your city. You might want a plate of cheese nearby because your Simoleans are going to WHINE, WHINE, WHINE and challenge you to discover new ways to meet their needs.

For a game that released in 2019, with a well-packaged preview, I thought I had found a game, today, after 3 other returns, that would allow me to skip the use of the W A S D keys for movement! Alas, my expectations were all too quickly dashed and I am sending yet another refund request to GOG. Likewise, the pixelated graphics served as more of a detraction...why?

Imagine buying a new keyboard for your computer and all of the letters were inverted, and you could only use your non-dominant hand to hunt-and-peck the keys. Tedious, yes, and your character gets tired of dying so many times they simply stop screaming. What continues as a decisive rant, is that companies do not tell players they must use W A S D to play. In the spirit of Wasteland, CIV, Starcom, and Pillars of Eternity, excellent games all, not a one of them requires this antiquated method of moving your character. GOG now has to mess around -- AGAIN -- with issuing a refund and I have to mess around -- AGAIN -- and try to find a game that I can play.

I remain absolutely frustrated that companies refuse to inform you that you must use W A S D to navigate! A simple sentence to say the movement is completed with these keys would minimize my purchasing, installing, finding W A S D required, uninstalling, and refunding. YouTube has helped me avoid this error but not with this game. To those of you adroit enough to use such commands, I think you'll find this an inexpensive diversion.

An older game that appealed to me at first look. This was likely an impressive game when it was first launched. While I cannot play 3-D games as they make me ill, Black Geyser is too close to the format of tiny characters, run-around, kill this, then that, and do it over again. Too repetitive for me. Too hard for my old eyes to see. Refund requested.

I'll admit, I did not read the reviews closely enough. I find it (mildly!) irritating when I cannot play the release in its entirety as it was designed all because I have to purchase the privilege to play certain characters. I find this business model distracting and disrespectful of game-players. The game is slow, the movement on the screen is a bit awkward. I created my own characters and raised them to level 5 only to find out I couldn't even use them to start the game--there goes a couple of hours. Not to contradict other reveiwers, but this simply was not, is not a game for me. I have requested a refund from GOG with the encouragment that Studios provide more disclosure to their games. Again, the fault is mine for not reading more reviews. Perhaps I would have saved myself some time and frustration(s).

I'm about 70 hours into playing the Germans in the Atlantic Fleet campaign. I REALLY am enjoying myself. Not only will I play the Kriegsmarine again, but I am looking forward to trying the Royal Navy also. Others have commented and I agree that a SAVE GAME feature would be a nice update. I've had 4 combat actions that I was dumped out of and lost all the tonnage of ships that I sank. Perhaps an update might consider a +1, +2, or +3 for game speed. When I have a 1.5-knot advantage chasing down some freighters, it's quite boring to continue cycling through. In the Atlantic Fleet campaign, I am limited to 30 ships. This is very unrealistic. Why should I have to scuttle destroyers just to get more subs? If you have some old Type VII submarines, you can't scrap them without the computer getting credit for "sinking" the subs (and claiming tonnage). There should be a way to retire old ships to make room for newer sub-models and/or larger capital ships. Nonetheless, even with these limitations, this game will remain active for a very long time. What a deal! What an enjoyable surprise. I highly recommend you add this game to your library.
