First I want to say that I am a newcomer to this game. the fondest memories I have of this game are finally getting it to work about five hours ago. I bought this game being prepared to accept the fact that i wasted six bucks. After the initially lame intro, in which a butterfly lands on the words "Ultima VII"-which was displayed in front of a lush, green forest, things got pretty interesting. I was instantly propelled into a fantastic world where you; the Avatar; are the people's only hope. You will meet a cast of interesting characters and investigate a mysterious crime scene. And, as stated in other reviews, this game isn't just for nostalgia. It isn't worth buying just for the interest of seeing the development of CRPGs. This is actually an awesome game, and will even be enjoyed by fans of games like Elder Scrolls or Guild Wars. So do the world a favor and buy this awesome RPG right now
This was a really fun game. It was nice to see a traditional point'n'click adventure game set in an open 3D world. The voices are pretty bad, (especially the protagonist's), but i assume the american voices are better. I don't see why GOG couldn't bother to throw in the original voices. Also, the soundtrack is acceptable, but could've been much more mood-setting. This doesn't really affect the actual gameplay, though. The game's comedy is sort of lame, and didn't live up to my expectations. If you are in this for the jokes, i suggest playing the Monkey Island series, or any other classic LucasArts or Sierra adventure games. In conclusion this is a fun game with some flaws, but a lot of entertainment value. just don't expect the gut-busting humor of other games of this era.
This complete rip-off stole my six bucks! It doesn't work on my perfectly compatible windows 7!!So please don't waste your time with this anti-windows version of the game!You're better off getting the game from someone who's giving them for FREE at any other website...GOG owes me 6 bucks!!!!!
