Might and Magic® 7: For Blood and Honor®

Best RPG of My Childhood

Of all the games on GoG, this is the one of highest value to me. I remember being wow'd by the amazing immersion, the truly free and open environment, and the detailed character development. The spell system is very rewarding, and the variety of quests, integrated with a good story, is a superb treat. There is also a major moral decision that affects your world permanently, which I thought was brilliant. I feel like Morrowind was a good spiritual successor to MM7, but I wish more games of this style and immersive magnitude would be released. Now to start my MM7 party fresh, maybe resurrecting my original charismatic party leader of 12 years ago, Dieter the Thief.

Tyrian 2000

Already open source and free

code.google.com/p/opentyrian Available here, this game is already open source and free. This makes it not much of a gift in the way of monetary value, but in Tyrian's case, the thought really does count. Better than most shooters I've played, this game has drawn me back over and over again. There are several game modes, many powerups, and more levels than I can remember right now. The humor in dialog and graphics is memorable and whitty and overall I rate this game as perfect. Go ahead and play it through, (once, twice, ... thrice), you won't be disappointed.
