The game wonderfullly captures the feel of a 1950s Sci-Fi alien invaision film.

When looking to replay the classic versions of Contra this collection is exactly what I wanted and more. It has all the Nintendo ones I played in my youth and filled with versions I never even knew existed like the Game Boy and Megadrive versions. Getting to play the arcade versions was a nice touch since I never saw it in the arcades I went to.

The game is a classic example of the rush to make fighters that occurred during the early and mid 90s. The characters are well known fighter types, but what holds it back for the single player game is the obsurd difficultiy. It's worth picking up if you're going to play primarily against friends.
