Donut County

Beautiful, yet not fun.

I will be honest, I had high hopes for this game, even after some people told me it was just a dumbed down version of Katamari damacy, which I am a huge of, and sadly it's exactly what this game feels like, gameplay consists of little more than dragging your mouse across the screen to guide the hole, which is not bad in and of itself, but that's the whole game, sometimes there's some light puzzle elements but that's about it, it being short is a major advantage, in fact the short length was the only thing that got me through it. That said, it is a beautiful game, it took years to make and you can see all the love that was put into it as you play, it looks gorgeous, and the minimalist aesthetic kind of fits it well, the soundtrack is also a high point, it's quirky dialog is quite fun as well. In short, it's a very simple game that just didn't hit the spot for me gameplay wise, do I recommend you buy it? Only if it's on sale.
