I may not have the best hardware but I can run games that are way more demanding and look far more impressive then this game and run at max settings at over 60fps and yet this game I'm lucky if I'm getting 30fps most of the time and the cutscenes stutter like I'm trying to run it on integrated graphics. I haven't gotten that far in the game and the inconstant frame rate to the point where it regularly freezes during simple cutscenes has made this game impossible to play for me at this time. I'll try it again once an update is pushed to hopefully fix these major issues but until then I might as well just uninstall it. As for the game itself it's ok to me so far if a bit all over the place with some dated gameplay mechanics and...a lot of hand holding and other reviews I've seen show me that I should not expect it to get much better but I seem to find entertainment in games that others say are complete trash so who knows. I decided to preorder the Precious Edition because FOMO got the better of me but had I known how bad it was going to be I would have waited for a sale or at least to see if the developer would update the game to fix the issues that a basic play test would have revealed. I really don't like it when games release in such a state all because they can "patch it later" because a lot of games never really get patched but are happy to take our money anyway while giving us garbage in return and right now this game is little more then garbage in it's current state. There are worse games out there sure but I really didn't want to think this game would end up being one of them.
The game looks interesting and the sound is nice but the game play as far as I was able to get through was a linear chore even if it was just the tutorial. After some trial and error I finally got the game to load properly on my Vive Cosmos but quickly noticed the UI elements were a bit jittery making me worried about getting nauseous once I got in to the game proper but thankfully the game ran fine...even with the menus and the display of my controllers still being a bit jittery when I was looking around when they were open. The controls do not let you turn with the analog sticks despite there seeming to be an option for that in the controls menu but with a press of the left and right grips you can turn 90 degrees in either direction so you aren't stuck having to turn in real life to get around and the forward movement will move where you look. I got the engines running and the second elevator working but then I got to a floor puzzle where I had to lead a robot across tiles to do some repairs with some tiles being off limits causing it to reset. This sequence makes you wait for each glitchy movement of the robot before you can select the next tile and if you land on a "locked" tile you have to wait for the tile to lower and the robot to be brought back up the starting tile (a nearly 20 second wait) before you can start again. I finally figured out the sequence after several attempts but just a few tiles before the end the robot seemed to freeze when moving to the next tile and when I realized I was able to select a tile again it would not move to the last tile and forcing it to land on a locked tile to reset it caused it to glitch at the start as well so I finally just gave up and closed out of the game. There is no excuse for a game this buggy after this amount of time to still be sold in such a state.
I coming out and saying now I did not buy this or the game it goes to. All I know is what I see on this page and it pisses me off that this is allowed. What this "DLC" offers is nothing more then some basic features that should be part of the game in the first place and extras that should have been free with the original game like the stuff we get with 99% of the games here on GOG. On top of that the download size is 0MB telling me that this is nothing more then an unlock code for content that is already in the game! Why is this allowed on GOG?! Unless this gets merged with the actual game instead of as DLC content I will not be buying this game as a protest to this kind of practice and I really wanted to try this game too. This also appears to be Day 1 DLC which makes it even worse. GOG please stop allowing this!
