It's a masterpiece in almost every sense. The gameplay feels fresh and powerful, even though it makes you rely less on guns and more on the skills. The metroidvania structure imposed in a 3d open world makes sure you'll will be seeing and taking only what you need and want from the experience. Could go from 20 to a 100 hours. Jesse is the best Remedy protagonist so far. The graphics are still impressive even without RTX It's from Remedy Games. Just get it.
Short and sweet. No depth in combat, but it was still very satisfying. There's a "they don't make it like this anymore" vibe to it. Amazing dialogue, jokes and running gags everywhere you turn in this cozy yet acid world. It's that Earthbound'ish slapstick. Really recommend for those who like a short and memorable experience between bigger games.
It's not that shallow but not deep enough. It places itself in a place where really good ideas meet okay execution. It's story is straightforward and predictable. The atmosphere and the world are pretty cool, though. If you're after a tactical rpg and yet not in the mood for deep strategies, go for it. If you're after the next XCOM, skip it. It's okay.
I played this game for the first time in 2020. It's still 5 stars. Simple as that. If you like 3D platformers or even atmospheric and creative games, just get it. It was made by the same mind behind Day of The Tentacle, Monkey Island, Full Throttle and many other story driven classics. While it have issues here and there, it's simply not enough to reduce the score owned. It's just that good. Go for it.
About the negative reviews: They're people stuck in 2015, still believing in false allegations and conspiracy theories. Just look it up yourself and you'll see. It's simply not true. About the dlc: The same as the game. It's a short and sweet surreal walking sim with funny interactions and weird puzzles. Could be longer, though.
