Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition

good with the ability to be better

if you are new to these type of games I think you will like it very Very much, but the best thing about FNV on the pc is the huge Modding community that have mods that can change\improve pretty much everything, just do a google search for FNV mods and you will be in business! you can replace the body type of the in-game npc's make the world look better, the list really seems never ending, or if you are the creative type then you can use the G.E.C.K. to make your own quests, npc's or just about anything, this game really is one of the best games out there for modding and tinkering with the game engine. I am really really hoping that GOG will get their hand on SKYRIM one day because I am really not a big fan of STEAM, my fingers are crossed....get this game and download the FalloutModManager (fomm) and then download and install your mods using fomm and enjoy!

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30™

sucks on windows 10

played the original Xbox version years ago and really enjoyed it, I know the GOG team try really hard to get games up and running on all versions of windows but they missed the mark with win10, graphical glitches, game crashed on first start and even crashed when tried to play it in safe mode, if you only have a windows 10 pc then avoid this one, I imagine it would probably not have issues on versions of windows prior to 10, best option is get yourself an old XBOX and play the console version instead!!!!! 2 thumbs down GOG team.

Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

not as good as SS2

I really enjoy this genre of pc game, it offers so much more than your typical FPS games. it's fun the first time around and is great if you have a really low-end pc but I didn't enjoy it as much as systemshock2 or some other games from this genre, the good news is there are always lottsa mods out there for these type of games so if you get some free time hit the mod sites and go crazy. worth adding to your collection in my opinion.

Descent: Freespace Battle Pack

pretty good game for sure

I didn't enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed many of the starwars space combat games but it is a good fly and shoot game, if you played x-wing or tie-fighter you should get what I mean....the starwars games just seem to do a better job with the whole combat thing, but it's good enough that you won't regret getting it(in my opinion), it includes a mission editor(FRED) but I could not figure out how to do anything with it.....was never able to put together even the simplest of dog fights, what a shame they didn't make it dummy-proof to use for DUMMIES like me.....bottom line I like the game but this genre is always in need of improvement . when I get the free time I will search youtube or something for tutorial videos on how to use this thing.

Shadow Warrior Classic Complete

good,but........

good doom style FPS game=CHECK funny wisecracks=CHECK will it run on most PC'S really good=CHECK is it free=(well it was for me at the time I downloaded it) does it include a level editor, ini editor and other goodies that duke3d had=NOOOOOOOOOOOOO what the hell? what a shame, I had sooooooo much fun using the dukenukem3d level-ed to make maps and the ini-ed to change things in the game like how much ammo a weapon could carry, how far it could shoot and how much damage was inflicted with each shot.....shadow warrior includes NONE of these(to the best of my knowledge)what gives? is this game not made by the same guys who brought us dukenukem3d? very disappointing if you ask me....but it's a good solid game, I just wish game developers would get-with-the-program and include extras.....let us TINKER!!!!!!!

Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition

good visuals,solid runNgun action

I have been a fan of these games ever since the original unreal tournament GOTY edition and they do keep getting better, make no mistake this game is good at what it does and although it does include various gameplay modes, capture the flag, control an area, team multiplayer blah blah blah, the genre is starting to feel old, been-there-done-that....the modes offer nothing new, it's either you against everyone else or your team vs their team, what I would like to see is something like what was done in the time-splitter series of games, you could make a simple map and then fill it with 20 bots or so and have them either standing guard or on foot patrol while you try to avoid or encounter them as you play. imagine if they included something like that with the unreal engine, you could play stealth missions where you avoid being detected or try to eliminate the enemies using stealth....what a shame developers are such unimaginative boring people.....but if you have never played an unreal tournament game then get it anyway!

Startopia

i think i broke the training feature?

this game is probably pretty good if you can understand how to play it but somehow I managed to break the training mode thing.....not really sure how but got so far and then was supposed to do something or build something and somehow did it wrong and.....well....I can't figure it out, I 'am lost and have reached a dead end with this thing and will probably never try to play it again.....just for the record I tried to follow all the tutorial directions in the game and TRIED 5 or 6 times and ran into the same problem every time, so having said that I have to assume the developers messed-up with the game tutorial thing.

Dungeon Keeper™ 2

not your typical game

I only gave it a three star but please understand it is a great game and different than anything you have played before(unless you played the first one)so get it for sure....but what drives me crazy is you are stuck with these 1st generation low-poly-count monsters and yes I understand that it was done that way to keep the game running at a smooth framerate as the monsters in your dungeon increase in number. but this is 2019.....I want high-poly-count-monsters, at least they could have given you some type of option screen for you to toggle it, if you don't know what I am talking about then just compare VIRTUALFIGHTER bots to DEADORALIVE3 bots for example and you will get what I mean. to the best of my knowledge the modding community has not provided us with anything that would improve the look of this game but if I am wrong then please let me know.

STAR WARS™: X-Wing Alliance™

deja vu ?

for anyone who ever played x-wing or tie-fighter back in the pc era known as DOS then you will feel right at home, same controls, same...well....almost everything except now you have a neat little mission editor(not as beefy as I would like though)for making your own missions ……. KEWL!!!!!!!!!!!! yes you DO need a joystick to play this game but would you really want to play it without one? I think not. my only caveat(hope I am using that term in the correct way?) is you are stuck with the visuals you are stuck with...yes they are better than the old DOS visuals but not by much, I wish there were options for being able to toggle this sucker to the max and make it look really good, but the visuals are good enough to get the job done, bottom line is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unreal 2: The Awakening Special Edition

pretty good FPS

I think this is a good FPS, not the best-of-all-time-knock-my-pants-off but for sure a good game. has it's weakness as most games do but I don't like to be as picky as other people do....bottom line for me is , does-the-game-keep-my-interest and would I come-back-to-play-it-again-from-time-to-time and this game gets 2 yes's from me. the only thing that bothered me was the occasional slow down/lag for whatever reason on my single-core system. the other thing the unreal games are known for is including a level-editor, not all FPS games do but the unreal games seem to, that gets bonus points from me, I love when developers include goodies that let you tinker around a bit, wish they would include more goodies though like something to let you make your own bots or something would be nice. bottom line is that I like this game.
