Awesome game, really

I was a little bit skeptical about buying and playing this game. It took me multiple tries. Especially because of its technical side. But I decided one day to finish it and it was really great decision. I wasn't able to stop playing as I was progressing the story. I am not a fan of adventures, it always failed while resolving riddles and puzzles, but this game was doable for me, so I was able to finish it and it took my breath. I like to story and the world... everything. This is really awesome game.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition

It's a great RPG

I have to say that I always wanted to play and finish this game. Basically since I purchased BG2 back in 2000/2001 and saw the NWN trailer. I didn't have chance as I gave up during the first game play, mainly focusing on aRPG or other story-based RPGs. After years of waiting and slacking, I finally gave it a try and went through the story. I think it's a great game. Yes, it's very old (even the EE version has old graphics), but it's still basically the same game. The only thing I need to say about this game is - what confused me - is that you don't have a party as the game was intended for multiple players first. But I like single and today (and even the years ago) it was harder to find other players. But the mods works, some online communities are still on so you can still enjoy the game.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear

Fair DLC, but not great

As a fan Baldur's Gate, I was really looking forward to play this new DLC which extends the saga with a new story and explain what happened between BG1 and Bg2. It didn't expect anything great, the studio was different, some time passed since ToB, etc. The DLC is fair, new story, locations, equipment, characters and more. It was interesting to meet with some NPC that had a role in the main plot and beyond5that. Good. The weakest point of this DLC is the story - I don't complain about the linearity, it's OK for me, but I complain about the end... it was something I really didn't expect as a hero of Baldur's Gate. I think that it should have been done better. Because the story is why I love (and still play) Baldur's Gate.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

Good, but can be better

I was really looking forward to play PoE2 Deadfire after finishing PoE1. A lot of things is better and I like it more, eg. the combat style, no 2 healthbears, graphics was better and navy combats were awesome. I also thought that 5 chars party would be strange ... but it was OK (but still I miss one char :)). It was something new with the big world, ships and pirates. It was fun ... until I found that the main story is ... I am not sure about the story. It was short, the end was weird (something I really didn't expected, but I didn't enjoy it). Also there is so many subquests and tasks which make the game good and longer, but also boring as you do the same again and again. It was a good game with many great improvements, but also were weak in terms of story.

Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition

Good RPG with intersting storyline

I purchased Pillars of Eternity because I really love similars games. I spent many hours playing (and replaying) Baldur's Gate, Icewind dale, etc. I really like how it's done, the perspective, stories and managing a band of different characters. When I tried to play Pillars for the first time, It was quite ... I was not able to get into it so I gave up after few hours. I tried it again expecting it would be better (it's just a different world, mechanics, etc) so I kept playing reaching a point when I was uncovering the main storyline and getting more into the game wanting to learn more and finish it. The game is really great, I like the story and how it's done (I would say that some mechanics are done better than in Baldur's Gate), but sometimes I had feelings that the game is quite unbalanced. Some fights were really difficult even on the highest level, some were very easy. Also the end was like ... I was expecting something different. But overall, it's a great successor of other similar games.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Classic in an advanced graphics

I really love games like Baldur's Gate saga, Planescape or Icewind Dale "saga". I wanted to play it on Mac and it was not possible with the original version (at least from what I tried). So I bought the enhanced edition and it was worht. Several bugs have been fixed but the game is still the same - still the same RPG I've always enjoyed to play (more action than in BG).

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition

Modern Baldur's Gate

When I discovered that there is this enhanced edition, I was afraid that the game would be different so I prefered to stay with the original version. But It's the same as with the first BG (see my review). The enhanced edition allows me to play it on today's computers. As a fan of this saga, I sometimes want to join the great world of mages, thiefs and enjoy the journey across Amn to finish the epic story.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Still great RPG

When I first heard about the plans for enhancing Baldur's Gate, I was quite skeptical. As a fan of BG saga, I was afraid that the changes will ruin the story, that the new NPCs wouldn't fit the world, etc. I wanted to play BG again so I decided to give a try and bought the Enhanced edition to be able to play it on today's computers. I really enjoyed it, there are no radical changes that will ruin the game. I like that you can use the kits from BG2 and that many bugs have been fixed. Thank's to this edition, I can play it again on modern computers with slightly improved graphics (which supports higher resolution). The only thing I don't like is that Beamdog removed the original animations and use some comics-like movies, but it's still OK.
