Remember playing the demo over and over again as a kid, developing the photo was a highlight. Now finally playing the full game. Some audio glitches when the voice acting gets cut and jumps to the next line, and on one of my pc's it refused to run at all till today (not sure what changed - hadn't reinstalled it) so your milage may vary. But it's a bit of nostaligic fun, with the usual classic frustrations of working out what your current goal is with few reminders and wondering if you have stuffed up your run with missing something.
Suspect I got it free on a GOG giveaway, but this should not be a priced game. It should be a free teaser for the sequel (which I don't think I will bother with). This is a very short experience; it's point and click scene transitioner. There is no indication you can interact with one puzzle without having an item equipped and mousing over the area.
Got this free, and it only crashed once, so it gets an extra star for at least working. The gameplay itself as others have mentioned: Pixel hunting to find hotspots to uncover items. Nonsensical puzzle solutions. The story is barely there. Like most Movie based games - The movie tells it better. Got halfway through the game and then watched the movie instead and then came back to finish it the following day. I'd recomend you avoid the game, But if you are set on playing obsure problematic jank, at least don't pay full price for it. Note: The online written walkthoughs i checked are missing important item locations, look up a YT LetsPlay if you get stuck.
Game world is beautiful, gameplay is smooth and atmospheric, Story is pieced together as you discover notes and ride the rides, finding out more until you quickly get to the dark conclusion, the game could be longer but I wasn't disappointed. Note: I Played the Switch release. The end video on the switch version was very compressed not sure if that's the same on PC, this had not affected my rating.
