"Second-best Painkiller" is an incredibly low bar when most of them are complete junk. This is quite mediocre. Too many weapons, none of which feel decent or impactful. Visually nice and colorful levels but not really interesting to traverse, encounters are usually quite boring or just annoying. Constant eyeroll-worthy protagonist quotes. The game is also incredibly unstable, it just crashes constantly: when trying to place tarot cards, when loading any save game beyond the start of certain levels, at random... it locked up quite hard for me at one point midlevel and had my mouse cursor held hostage so I couldn't access task manager to close it, during which time it was running my CPU super hard and hot. Just not worth the risk to play anymore.

Shockingly nice looking MS-DOS take on Powerdrift with decent music. The game suffers from major flaws though: First, player acceleration is unbelievably slow no matter which character you pick; the computer racers accelerate exponentially faster. Bumping anything zeroes out your speed. The game sort of auto-steers for you on corners which makes dodging obstacles in or just after corners on certain tracks extremely difficult, it feels like the game is trying to pull you back into them. Your steering seems to get worse the slower you get so it's basically impossible to correct a turn where you're headed for a wall. Runs smooth, looks great, just feels like it wasn't tested in the slightest. Really like zero fun to play.
