Warlords I + II

A classic fantasy wargame

Warlords 1 is one of those games which never got properly iterated upon. Even its sequel while very good started to depart from the strengths of the original. Simple but deep, this is purely a wargame with some very superficial heroes and adventuring added for some extra spice. One of my all time favorite games, I highly recommed it!

D&D Stronghold: Kingdom Simulator

Another unique and interesting classic

Its a bit quirky and definetly needs some getting into, but a very rewarding game in a style that does not really exist anywhere else.

Sword of Aragon

Great classic strategy

One of the most interesting takes on the fantasy strategy genre. Sadly never really caught on, but now cou can give it a try ;)

Phantasie Memorial Set

A great classic of the golden era

If you like dungeon crawlers with a bit of a grindy side and enjoy older games, give Phantasie a try.

Might and Magic 3 - Isles of Terra

Great Classic CRPG

Among the best of the 2.5D Dungeon Crawlers. It is maybe only surpassed by its direct sequel and Fate Gates of Dawn.

Warlords

A classic for fantasy wargaming

Quick and easy to get into, enough complexity to keep you. One of the best maps in its genre to this day. I have been enjoying Warlords since back in the Amiga games and it is just as good as it was.

The Bard's Tale Trilogy

Beware if picky about language

Game itself might be great but now I will never know When I bought the game, it was exactly what I wanted and what was advertised. Didnt have the time to play though, but always looked forward to having the time for it. Now I have the time but latest version removed the ability to choose the language of the game, so it defauts to the OS language. Unplayble for me, destroys all nostalgia, really kills the point of it for me. But mostly its just a really offensive and harmful practice to not allow you to choose your installation language, something that is beyond my understanding of the human mind to fathom why anyone would consciously program something like that. Maybe at some point in time someone will invent a technology that will allow you to just choose the language you want to play the game in, during installation or even within the game itself. But apparantly such a technology is beyond our time :/ Third game I bought on GoG I cannot play :( This is not the part of the past I want to relive really. (also GoG now leads 3:2 against Steam on that account)
