Shogun Showdown

Excellent roguelike

It's tight and delivers everything a roguelike is supposed to. Runs are quick and progression is noticeable. Decent amount of unlockables for varied gameplay. Very well rounded game.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

fun but can be annoying

I love the charm this game has, the isometric angle, the pre-rendered scenario, and all the non-linear exploring it allows you to do. But the constant need to sleep to regain spells, permadeath, getting oneshot'd randomly, random encounters and unfair fights in earlygame areas is very counter intuitive for first timers. The game rewards but also randomly punishes you for being urious to explore around. I get it that once you stray away to distant lands you get what you deserve but that isn't the case here. Sometimes you will find an ogre or a vampiric wolf or whatever and they will obliterate your party. You think these will be beatable for being around early and so close from where you started, but no. They will oneshot your party. On top of that if they land a critical you can't even revive the party member that got gibbed. If you can get past these nuisances there is a gem underneath, once you get some levels you won't be prone to die in one hit and will have tactical options to disengage in case things get dire.

Iratus: Lord of the Dead

Gets boring fast

It has a lot going on at first but once you grasp the mechanics the fights can get very repetitive, even with a full roster of different armies.
