Helium Rain

Conquor space at your own pace

Overall this game is very good. It has a few small UI/UX oddities, but aside from those it is a very enjoyable game. You can be a space pirate, attacking ships and stations, or you can build a massive company doing many things, from mining to shipbuilding to tool and goods production. The game starts out slow, and introduces you to all the various elements nicely, like research, station building and trading. Later in the game it gets more difficult, with pirates and meteors threatening your ships and stations. You can build or lower reputation with the various other companies by doing missions, or attacking them. Each ship has its own upgrades which is cool. The graphics are very good and I was very impressed with the global illumination system, as well as the physics. It's kind of a mix between a RTS and a space shooter but it's done very well. You can build a fleet of ships and assign them to a trade route to make money. The economy system in the game is very well done, and like the developers said there isn't a single thing that is created out of nowhere. Everything is produced by something in the game. Also it's awesome that the games source is available on Git, it's great to see developers supporting open source stuff. Even though it is based on UE4 which isn't open source, it's still really nice to be able to build the game yourself and make changes if you want. You can download UE4 for free, and if you purchase the game you can use the assets and the source to build the entire game.
