Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance

I tried to like it, but it's flawed

I tried to like this game, I even pushed through some missions to see if things will change but they didn't. It's like this game was made by people who never played RTS games before. You want to build a full resource based, almost sim-like RTS ? Sure no problem I can dig that. But how they implemented this ? In the beginning , most of your firepower comes from towed defense platforms. Those platforms need to be manned and towed. Ok sure. But then game tries to make this so complicated so that it's really hard for you to manage manpower; who tows what, who mans what etc. Instead of clicking to empty tow or manpower slot and game giving you a list of available resources, you have to go through entire list of infantry and individually check if they have been assigned to anything or not ??? Like how do you mess this up ? And resources ? Well each unit has limited ammo of different kind. Sure that's fine you need to resupply them sometimes. But then, your other human enemies you fight on the campaign, don't seem to have this mechanic, they can shoot forever and spawn in waves forever. And the robots ? Ok you can say super advanced AI is very efficient, but they still need to obey laws of physics, at some point batteries will run out and the unit must shutdown. But not in this game, they can shoot forever. So what's the point of the supply mechanic if it only influences the player ? So on and on. When you finish the mission there is an objective "Area exit", where you must now manually get all of your platforms and rigs and infantry to exit point. Why ? Mission is finished let me move on, why introduce this mechanic? I reached Mission 5 and just stopped playing man. It's not enjoyable, bad design. I applied for refund, hopefully I can buy something else for the price of this game that is worth my time.

EVERSPACE™ 2 - Titans

Pretty good

I enjoyed it really. This DLC add two new repeatable encounters: Dreadnaught and Leviathan. There are accompanying story missions for each of these encounters and they were all pretty enjoyable for me. I liked Leviathan that it gives the player an avenue to use other ships and not just stack Gunship for everything. Actually Gunship is pretty bad at Leviathan runs, since its a slow ship. What I disliked about Leviathan is that it's a bit disorienting and there's not much time , so when you get objectives like "find XY" inside of Leviathan, it's really a big problem since there are no objective markers. This DLC adds variety to endgame content, so now you have quite a bit of activities to choose from: Rifts, High-Risk areas, Dreadnaught and Leviathan.

Tomb Raider GOTY

Great game

Just finished the campaign, great game overall. Slightly darker vibes though. Shooting is great, upgrades are meaningful and story is engaging. Buy it , play it, you won't regret it

UNCHARTED™: Legacy of Thieves Collection

Great cinematic experience

Uncharted 4 : Great game really, amazing visuals, few slow segments when Drake brothers were kids, other than that, I enjoyed entire game. Play it, you won't regret it. Uncharted Lost Legacy: Oh man is this a different game. Yes the visuals are there, the cinematic experience is there, but they force feed you that WOKE garbage so much it really ruined my experience. They constantly put wahmen in hard physical situations and combat, I couldn't believe my eyes. They transformed Nadine from a badass woman in Uncharted 4, to what on earth this even is in this game ??? Chloe is pretty and feminine, but they put them both in hand to hand combat with men twice their size, how do you think this would end up in real life ? And it's just so forced, it makes you want to puke. They could've written a powerful female character if they had any talent to do so like Queen Meve in Thronebreaker, or Sigourney Weaver in original Alien, but no, they make these small women super terminators that kicks ass and don't need no man. As the end was getting closer I literally got sick of it, two small women would push iron cart while Sam a 90-100 kilo man is just standing there , helpless, waiting for these terminators to help him out. Ridiculous and disgusting writing. If you are buying this package, buy it on discount and only play Uncharted 4, trust me, you'll have a great experience with no major regrets. Don't even start Legacy of Thieves.

Kane and Lynch: Dead Men™

Clunky, but still decent experience

Just finished the campaign. It's a decent game , a bit clunky and dated obviously but shooting is fun. Story is ok but characters are not your typical hero types, they are hardened criminals. If you get this on sale you can have some fun with the game.

Days Gone

Masterpiece

Just finished the game, 60hours in. What can I say ? Great story, well written characters, very fun gameplay, weapons have a great feel to them. I'd be struggling to find things I dislike here. If you buy this at full price you won't regret it. 10/10 game

Empire of the Ants

Has it's moments, but mediocre overall

I really wanted to give a better score for this game but I simply cannot. Let's start with what I liked first: ▲▲▲ - beautiful graphics, simply stunning to look at - some really fun battles, especially with units that you don't get to see often like hornets, mantis and snails - powers system is decent and helpful in battles Now on to what I didn't like and there is much more of it: ▼▼▼ - exploration missions are such a mindless grind that it amazes me how this idea got to production. you get almost no visual cues like where to go so you are left wandering often dark uninteresting underground maps like a madman hoping to just get it over with. I understand developers wanted to "force" exploration here, but that is not how you do it. My recommendation to developers is to REWORK this in a patch it is so bad - overall game is built for consoles, you can see it from UI , no PC game plays like that - strategic and tactical missions, while sometimes fun and interesting, most of the time fall short and resort to resource grind until you have enough force to blast through enemies In summary, the game has it's moments but more often than not falls short in execution. Maybe get it if it's on a steeper discount, otherwise I cannot recommend at full price in this state. I am hoping developers get the feedback and try to improve some concepts in an expansion or something.

FlatOut 2

Amazing classic that still holds up

Oh man did I love to play this game back when I was kid... The crash and damage system are amazing and still hold up to this day. Acrobatics are amazing and enjoyable. It was an amazing game back then and still is today. Recommend it to everyone who likes racing games and crashing into other cars at full nitro !

The Thaumaturge

Decent 4/5 game. Good story and combat

Just finished the campaign. Took me around 47h with almost all side quests I was able to find. I liked the game, especially the combat system with salutors. Story starts off slow (sometimes it's reeeeallly slow in Act 1 and beginning of Act 2), but picks up in pace at the end of Act 2 and in Act 3 is really interesting with high stakes. What I really liked here is these seemingly random fights that come up from nowhere, like bunch of randos start asking questions and you know it's going to be a fight there. This works wonders to break the slow pace in the beginning of the game, so good job there. Voice acting is decent, but don't expect AAA performance here. In few dialogs it almost feels like AI generated bland and soulless (but this is exception and not the norm. Just know that it's there sometimes). That's it yeah, in summary a decent 4/5 game with interesting combat system that has the potential to be even better in the next game.

Decent game with great art

Just completed the story. Took me around 5h. Let's start with what I disliked: Some dialogue segments are too long and uninteresting so I just rushed through them. Also, game could've been a bit longer. I feel like 24.99 EUR for the original price is just too steep for 5h of campaign. There is ofcourse some replayability in there, but if you get a good outcome on the first run, not much incentive to go back to it. Now what I liked: Great art really, I enjoyed the animations and visuals. Decent combat system honestly, buffs/debuff system, all works fine and is enjoyable to fight various monsters. Story is good, at several points in the story I asked myself "Am I doing the right thing ?" since it got a bit confusing, but I count that as a positive, since all factions in the story have their own logical motivations that one can argue for. In summary, this is a decent game: 4/5 great visuals and the combat system, although story drops in pace couple of times. If you can get it on discount too, it provides even more value.
