In concept is great, in execution seems primitive to me even for it's time. Not scathing as some other negative reviews here; I get it, but can NOT PLAY it in it's present state. I do not know if there is a remake (an extensive one) available, but then could be great. To campare, it reminded me of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but serious handicaps due to age. That other game can take getting used to, but one can get the hang of it, and may have been inspired by this one: My recommend would be that one instead of this one; or maybe Mount & Blade 2, that I haven't tried. I probably won't, as again, with 'Kingdom Come' I have enough to learn. I also admit I gravitate more toward fps with some rpg: not fond of virtual horses or bows and arrows in these! Lol. But if you ARE, again, today there are better games than this one now. Otherwise, it ran great, looked ok out of the box on last gen Win10/Radeon -- I tried a mod that was interesting, graphically better; but nothing can improve Warband's dated mechanics... Not sure when Skyrim was done, but I am maybe spoiled that that looks and plays better too! 3 stars are for inspiration, not execution...

First, I can not recommend this game; but I'm enjoying it: I can not recommend it, because it's a 'rogue-like' card and strategy game, and I am not very familiar with these. So those who are, may not like it; and those who aren't may still hate it. Lol. However, I can make this comparison: that it's difficult to find good newer turn-based titles like past Lord Of The Rings turned-based RPGs (not strategy) I still like to play; and the gameplay reminds me of those. I can also compare the environment to them, yet better and more modern -- and some of it's voicing and story remind me of the darker parts of those maps coming into 'Mordor'. Lol. So, if this appeals, and one can buy it on sale, a great deal I think. Now that I have it, would even say worth the regular price. Unlike others I play, though, again, rogue-like: so stay away if often restarting is an issue for you; though you will progress eventually, as the character keeps it's skills after any defeat. As a turn-based RPG, again, I am enjoying it anyway! It also runs great and looks great, plays great, on my last gen Win 10/Radeon pc. Another 'hidden gem' for me here! :-)

I found this game mainly disorienting, and no clear navigation nor accuracy regarding the boat from which I dove in the first place. For the developer this may be also their most complex game I know of; usually good for simpler titles -- I hoped maybe they would rework this one somewhat for a better experience, but I can only give it three stars presently. Otherwise, for a casual deep-diving experience, as other even professional divers here have mentioned (I'm not), it is more casual than the real thing I think...sufficient graphics and environment, needing little horsepower, and everything works well that does work. I also am late with this review, did not play for very long, because of the confusion again; I couldn't get back to the surface or boat after a second dive, that was also timed, and so I gave up after a few attempts and uninstalled the game: It reminded me of being inside of one of those early-century 'aquarium' screensavers while I WAS playing it. Lol... It could be better with more polish and improvement, but I think that they have moved on since then. Take this all into account, make up your own mind, because there may be Others who don't have my problem: It also ran fine on a last gen Win 10 machine with 2k Nvidia display.

I would give 'I Am Alive' five stars easy, for the concept and game; but this version here needs serious attention given to gamepad issues especially in the menu... There is also the check-point save system that GOG did not fix. Lol. I forgot about this, I did not like, when I wondered even when I saw it here lately, "What was the OTHER game, I played a few years ago, like this?" It WAS this! I wanted to go back to it, could not remember it's name; didn't even realize it WAS this one, until after I bought it here... So, I thank GOG for bringing it here on sale, but does need a bit of work on the controller issues, even if you can not change the save system that is original to it I guess. It otherwise plays fine on my Windows 10/Radeon last gen pc, and I am Enjoying it! :-)

First, I'm not a master at this game by a long shot, But I have also not enjoyed trying to improve much at times, as much as I enjoy THIS chess title. I've also played some with other pieces to choose from, rather than only boards, also with animations for the moves and taking an opponent's piece. There is also no ability to save the game, is why four instead of five for this one -- but this is the BEST I've ever played for PLAYING chess: I think this is the Important thing, and is the strength of this game. One issue I have with chess for instance, is to me it's boring; so, I would be close to snoozing while struggling with seeing further ahead than only my own defense. Lol. But THIS plays more agressively, whoever 'fritz!' is in there! Lol. Hard to explain how this isn't to say it's harder than others, but some really exciting matches -- is not boring; not something I usually can say about a chess game. It also runs fine on my last gen desktop and laptop: A GREAT game again here! I'm Glad I bought it, and the extra boards later :-)

Yep, right from the start, whatever characteristics you chose in the broken character set-up, and in dialogue choices, you begin this game and likely continue as a pathetic lying jerk. Just to let Others know; reminds me of a bad employment application or some of the worst personality tests I have ever seen: trying to weed-out the psychotics -- who surprise everyone in that they can NOT be detected until they go off their head with a gun. It is we nervous folk who are actually the SANER ones. Lol. The game otherwise ran well, before I soon uninstalled it for how overly cynical this game seemed: If there is a middle between introvert and extravert, for example, there should also be choices on both sides of the spectrum; the game even labels 'ambiverted' as balanced. Yet You can NOT CHOOSE but the extremes to be MORE of one or the other, not a bit of both: Most people ARE a bit of both; most who are a bit OFF are also a bit of both, NOT extreme. And NOT all are liars, though all dialogues seem to think so, or that one would play it this way: NOT ALL would want to play that way; I did not! This is the only choice though, given at times, is to LIE: This very much put me off from the game until realizing later is part of the point of the game, as 'you' ARE antisocial at first... I gave it another try, went further into it, and now am enjoying it VERY much: Too soon I reviewed it previously, but I now give it four stars, as is even funny and well-conceived, though I still feel would be more realistic if character creation were a bit better, and more than just negative answers to begin with. Again, not all who are depressed are that cynical, or liars to begin with. In this game he IS... Get past that, and it gets BETTER. :-)

There are even free games I wonder what they are worth, don't like to play, taking up space in my library here, I wish I had passed: 'Betrayer' isn't one of them; I'm enjoying figuring it out, and it runs well enough to learn while I am at it. It also reminds me of others I liked, of the mid-teens era of 2000, from indie developers, that played and looked Indie, but in a good way. A limited review here, because I'm still learning; but isn't complicated, only different. Reminds me graphically of 'Chernobylite', I also like, but is set in a western waste and mystery that has to be solved. The inventory system may be it's only weakness; some buying in-game is not too clear about selling, though does give a sale-price for items. More about exploring than combat, walking than fast action, I am also fine with; and it has immersion I like. Combat may also increase further in-game; but given at first a bow and arrow is far better for aiming and firing than most AAA games with bow and arrow I've played. Lol... For those who like a mystery, walking, exploring, learning along the way; do not mind mystery and uncertainty, at a fair pace to think things through, I believe would agree on five stars for this. The screen shots here are also not good examples, as a normal color palette can be had by adjusting the saturation in the menu: I passed on it more than once, because I didn't know this, and are in mostly black and white and red here! Lol. But this game can run full color, is FREE, and runs smoothly on Win10 and an RX550: GREAT deal! THANKS GOG! :-)

I was warned... another here mentioned the poor graphics of creatures and anything beyond the environment. I also realized I'd played some of this before once I began: Weird; I still don't know how or where? SPOOKY! Lol... To begin with, kind of reels one in: good atmosphere and settings, and the puzzles to progress were just enough to feel a sense of accomplishment; though I didn't like the premise of one of these much, to really get started. I am not into the occult... But the premise of an after-life, of regret, remorse, maybe ghosts, tied to experience of war, was plausible and interesting, and is why I thought to try this in the first place. But after dying more than once by one of the first ugly poorly-drawn creatures of the game, I simply lost all interest and have not played since. May try again, but can't say I enjoyed it very much, other than the beginning atmosphere. I WAS WARNED...

It's been awhile since I played the original pc version. Some say this one's based on the xbox version, as a bad thing; but I agree with another here, who said in this version it's easier to manage the suit we wear: It is for ME! And graphically and otherwise, it looks great and runs fine on a Radeon 4 gb 550, i5 16 gb Windows 11 system; no raytracing installed. Finally, for having a check-point save system, rather than quick or manual -- and I don't remember if the original pc version did -- I give four instead of five stars... Otherwise, it would be a five star title again here; is BETTER for me than the original version! :-)

I want to like the game; echoes of FarCry and some others of the time, with more to it I would like to play. The problem is 'nightvision' is the 'start' button on a gamepad, and similar odd menu and controller access for me ruin the gameplay that otherwise would be WONDERFUL... So, I rate it only a three in it's original state. I don't Know about the remaster, but I doubt my issue was fixed. I also had no crashes previously; and they updated again but also did not solve anything; and I saw no 'new launcher' on launch the changelog mentions, unless I missed this in the folder or something. I uninstalled that update even faster than the older version when I played, because again it is not a cosmetic but technical problem that I have with the game. A remake would be 'Wonderful' too, without the odd menu and controller layout: The menu is weird even with a keyboard and mouse! Lol.
