Trapped between the walls of your family home and the trenches of World War I, you try to piece together your past and take back control of your life.

    BREAK THE CYCLE

Will the nightmare of the war ever end? Will you find inner peace one day? In Ad Infinitum, you play as a German soldier haunted by the horrors of the Great War. While your mind grapples with memories of your family home and the trenches on the front, you try to break the endless cycle of suffering.

    BETWEEN A DREAM AND REALITY

You wake up in your bedroom, unchanged from your teenage years, in a run-down and deserted manor house. Suddenly and inexplicably, you are transported to the trenches where the horrors of war are overshadowed by vile and even more terrifying creatures. Unable to distinguish between reality and nightmare, you must fight to regain control of your life's narrative.

    NIGHTMARES THAT BECOME REAL

Unspeakable nightmares come to life in the recesses of your mind. To escape the death traps and terrifying creatures, you must understand the source and motivation of each monster and solve the puzzles that stand in your way. From blind demons who can hear your softest footsteps to hideous disjointed puppets who move in the dark, horror is around every corner.

    A FAMILY TORN APART

The fallout of the war is felt far from the front. Peel back the shroud that hides the secrets of your family, torn apart by the Great War, and try to remember your past. Through exploration and by solving riddles and puzzles between the walls of your home and the barbed wire of No Man’s Land, you ultimately reveal a chapter in the story of a German family torn apart by war.

    Generational Trauma and WW1

As a big fan of Amnesia and Layers of Fear, I quickly fell in love with this game; it is a typical first person horror adventure with chase scenes, (easy) puzzles and a more or less mysterious plot which needs to be uncovered step by step. I personally really enjoy such games and Ad Infinitum even comes with a very thorough, and understanding, even empathetic, look at World War 1 and the years around it. A central theme, I'd say, is the infinitely ongoing generational trauma both leading to the war and stemming from it; and it's up to the player to decide to continue it or break it. I think the writers really understood the sociology and psychology behind all that. I also liked the artistic decisions; from level and monster design to the useage of lighting and anything else. Beyond that, I think the puzzles were a tad too easy and in some cases I had a few bugs which need polish; nothing was game breaking though and more on a cosmetic level annoying. (Like doors which slightly open, but are meant to be closed and locked. With hovering signs where they actually should be)

    Wonderful game

Really deep, the history is very solid and interesting, the game is made by sessions like a book, but it don't have much action, of course it's a horror game, but i mean the game focus more in the story than the gameplay, so if you think it's like Amnesia the Bunker for example, nah.

oh man, it's unfortunate this game doesn't have more spotlight! the horror is tame and the puzzles are very straightforward, but if you enjoy the satisfaction of piecing together a mysterious and touching narrative bit by bit, then i urge you to give this game a shot. it has a story you can easily get invested in, refreshingly unique creature designs, and a convincing dive into our main character's psyche as a young soldier dealing with the traumas of war, through the lense of his family relationships.

    The story was good! but...

as above stated, the story was phenomenal! and the design of the games bosses, enemies, levels and everythign such was absolutely amazing! but I feel like some of the puzzles simply didn't work too well, maybe I'm just dumb lol, and that the horror element of the game was a bit lacking. I absolutely recomend playing this game, if only for the amazing design and the story better than 90% of horror games out there.
