Big Pharma

Good game, but could be even better

It's a good game, but it could be much better. It becomes a bit repetitive after a few hours and it is far too easy. With an improved game balance to increase difficulty and a few small new features, it would be a great tycoon game. For example: - I miss some moral choices, which I expected to find in a game about pharmaceutical industry. - The demand is always so high, that I think 4 competitors in the biggest map producing only one product are not able to cover it completely. That means that no matter how bad your drug is, you will sell all production. It's true you sell at a lower price if the market saturation is high, but that's not enough nor reallistic. - Manual product pricing would be interesting. Currently the price is automatically calculated depending on quality, side effects and market saturation. Then two identical products have always the same price, preventing competence.

Democracy 3

Only interface saves it from disaster

Unstable, unrealistic, too easy gameplay. They try to solve the latter with nonsense behavior, causing crises without apparent reason. The most probable ending is assasination, even if you manage to achieve a wonderful utopia for your citizens. Forget that. The most probable ending is reaching a point in which you cannot continue, because the game closes without even showing an error. And it does not matter how many times you restart it: starting a new game is the only option for a while, until even that does not work. On the positive side, interface is original and intuitive. That is the only good point. It would be an acceptable 5$ game, but at its current price, it is a waste of money.

Lifeless Planet Premier Edition

It could be much better

I have just finished the game, and the first thing I have to say is I liked it. The music is great, some landscapes are wonderful and the story is addictive. I would not play it again, but I certainly do not regret buying it. On the other hand, an addictive story is not the same as a good one. I wanted to know the end, but it is far from being the best game storyline I have seen. As I said, landscapes are wonderful, but that is despite the graphics quality, which is at a much lower level than the design. The game is also too simple: just a few movements and two usable tools. That alone is not bad, but a simple game which is long at the same time is not a good idea. It is too repetitive at some stages. On summary: good idea, great music and beautiful design, but too limited (or too long), technically poor and a wasted story, which could have been much better without many changes.
