Description
In Kerbal Space Program, take charge of the space program for the alien race known as the Kerbals. You have access to an array of parts to assemble fully-functional spacecraft that flies (or doesn’t) based on realistic aerodynamic and orbital physics. Launch your Kerbal crew into orbit and beyond (while keeping them alive) to explore moons and planets in the Kerbol solar system, constructing bases and space stations to expand the reach of your expedition.

Kerbal Space Program features three gameplay modes. In Science Mode, perform space experiments to unlock new technology and advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind. In Career Mode, oversee every aspect of the space program, including construction, strategy, funding, upgrades, and more. In Sandbox, you are free to build any spacecraft you can think of, with all parts and technology in the game.

Try out the many mods created by the Kerbal Space Program community!
  • Build spaceships, rockets, and vehicles using any imaginable combination of parts, each with their own function that will affect the way your spacecraft behaves.
  • Take full control over your ship’s setup to execute complex flight maneuvers.
  • Manage your Kerbal crewmembers, including hiring, training, and sending them into space to become heroes.
  • Discover a whole star system with unique moons and planets, exploring detailed terrain at a vast scale.
  • Send your Kerbal crew outside their ships for “extra-vehicular” activities.
  • Dock spacecraft together to construct space stations, massive starships, and surface bases on new planets.
  • Use satellites to scan terrain and find biomes and other anomalies.
  • Set up communications networks to communicate between your spacecraft and Kerbal Space Center.
  • Research and develop new technologies to extract valuable information and resources from all over the solar system, and much more!

Unacceptable EULA changes

Take-Two have enforced a new EULA upon this game that makes those of us who already own it legally unable to play it if we do not agree to these new, horrible rules which include such delightful phrases as "Licensor reserves the right to monitor use of the Software at any time. You may not interfere with such access control measures or attempt to disable or circumvent such security features, and if you do, the Software may not function properly. " This line in the EULA has resulted in this previously offline playable being changed to now requiring a constant internet connection, and that is merely the tip of the iceberg of this new agreement. Purchase this game at your own risk.

Do you like Physics or Space?

...then this game should be yours. The start is relativly easy but later challanges are tough to conquer. Every successful step of your space program will be very satisfying. (First Orbit, First flyby of the muns, Landing there, First docking in space) For all of this achievments there are also tutorials in game and in youtube... You will be constantly learning things about real world aerospace and physics. Give it a try - there is an up to date demo! The full game will be content updated for the next time so it is worth every Cent. The game is practically free of bugs The downside of KerbalSpaceProgram is: after playing this game a while, movies like Gravity or Star Wars will appear physically incorrect ;) Happy launchings!

Fun Game, still has spyware embedded

A very fun game, with alot of mods that really keep the game going. Its quite challenging and some of the contracts ingame career mode will literally drive you nuts. Anyway onto the more important thing, the spyware the part that i was skeptical about as well. Its integrated into the .exe now. But theres a caviet, you can opt out only during the first run of the game, heres the opt out, the token is generated based on your machine snapshot at the time of token generation. Lets you opt out of being "spied" on but then again, it already took a snapshot to phone home with all of our devices information. To me this is a big BIG turn off for any game, and or developer to implement. Hard core privacy invasion and intrusion. Just a huge heads up if you buy this game like i did, wondering to what extent the software inshort spies on. Also to determine whats being phoned home about your machine now, its all clearly stated, but you need to attach a debugger to the games ksp_x64.exe to find where it all points too. Current opt out link from the unity appliction (Token= is your devices unique UUID which ID's your hardware, your device). "https://dataoptout-ui-prd.uca.cloud.unity3d.com/?token=" "sdfajmephivkohlcvlm2234rg4h5t0lvo8l9prr8tkobses56r345prf5p4s" Now if you can get past the fact these devs literally spy on you if you don't opt out during first runtime and you don't see the notice again (unless you reinstall the game), then this will be a fun game. Especially if you only intend to run the game on a unnetworked device, then it wont really matter because the software can't phone home, if theres no network connectivity period. Or you could literally block everything network associated using windows or linuxes inbuilt firewall management associated with Kerbel Space Program.

Fun, but flawed

I'm very much torn on this game. I want to love it, but at the same time I hate so many things about it. It has huge potential, but it's crippled by several key oversights and flops. What I loved about it is this sense of creation, and a sense of doing something you thought wasn't possible. It's also one of very few games allowing you to learn some basics of orbital mechanics in relatively simple way. It allows you to grasp some of the excitement real engineers get from building a spacecraft and seeing how it lands on strange, new worlds, and the frustrations along with the stress some of the spaceflight pioneers had decades ago with rockets tumbling in flight, or the difficulties of orbital rendezvous. At the same time however it's fundamentally flawed in many, many ways-and it's not simplifications that bother me, it's the things that this game just doesn't get right.Characters limit in GOG reviews sadly don't allow me to go in detail, but let me say this: What you will learn after playing KSP isn't how the spaceflight works-it's how the KSP works. You'll end up having tons of misconceptions and be very convinced that what this game teaches is a good science. It's not. It's wrong to the point where in the Internet I can recognize KSP players by their clueless comments, completely detached from the reality. Some of the most important things missing from the game include lack life support, radiation, proper aerodynamics (v1.0.x is still wrong), proper reentry, fixing ridiculous density of planets, adding data displays or stuff on surface of planets. Beyond that game doesn't feel like it's anywhere near being finished.Research tree is a complete mess that's left remaining from some early version, parts are inconsistent, many of them missing (eg.no upper stage engines for 3m parts, or any of the parts for QBE 'series'),science is still just a clickfest, there's no role for rovers, contracts are also a mess detached from reality, etc.(no chars left to talk more)
