If they continue on this course they will have made the best First Person Shooter seen in 20 years. I would say the gameplay is pretty spot on. The Arc-rail gun I think needs a click on, click off zoom mode but that's about it. There is actually NOT alot of room for improvement because they have made an excellent show of their knowledge of the essential elements of the F.P.S genre, and a good First Person Shooter game. I did not encounter any bugs or glitches, and in all reality that would be the only thing which could dampen this one. Prodeus is really fantastic, and I suspect the finished version will be as well. The visuals are a blend of the modern graphical API palette and the classic Build Engine. Easiest way of describing it. The gameplay is very seamless and very pleasing. Level design is great.

It does NOT have a great deal of depth. I was just playing it and it is like an oldschool atari game but in 3d in a way. I actually really like the idea of the 3d atari game. I just kinda find it neat. I'M NOT EVEN SURE THAT WAS THIER INTENTION. But it is SOMETHING that can be LEARNED FROM. (cups hands) 3D ATARI STYLE OLD-SCHOOL MODERN GAME! A game/GAMESTYLE like this COULD really benefit from procedural maps etc. However the gameplay needs a life. Counter. andliveswow. SOMETHING GAME EVEN. Man... 3 lives remember that. FIFTY YEARS AGO! Better depth. Nice idea good conept. BECAUSE I'M HANDING YOU THE BACON. ANY OF DEVS AN ENGINE THAT CAN DO THIS THING. Modern Oldschool 3d atari game thing. This 3d super oldschool atari style game with modern developments sounds like A REAL ANGLE. Hate the game not the players. It sounds like this guy barfed on his junk and just sat there or something. Try again, or SOMEONE IN THE COMMENTS SPOOK MY SUGGESTION TO SOME SORT OF DEV PEOPLE. I'm too lazy. kthnx

For the first point and click I ever finished I have to say it's not a bad experience. (I'm an FPS person by nature.) I like that it has a happy ending despite it's weirdness. It's story wasn't the increasingly common misery. I liked it. If I never finish another point and click adventure game I'm glad I played this one. For what it is and it's visual style I give it a 5 star rating. Everything that is there works and works well. I suppose that if you HAD TO play a point and click in life by one sneaking in. (Which is what happened to me.) Let this one slip by. It's not long or tedious.

Having never seen the PC ports before I'm surprised by the lack of options or any real setting indicators. It's very mysterious. Needing to discover F1 and F2 are start keys proved confusing. {No manuals or anything at the moment.} I'm kinda shocked by how dated it comes across having to use the keyboard and having controller issues. I have an 360 controller 1, 2, and 3 so far just don't seem to understand. Number 2 and 3 seem a little derpy to me just dropping you in the select screen. Number 1 is polite and familiar asking you to press start. Maybe I'm having control issues but the controls seems a bit off. Except MK1, which was always a hair janky after it's time, is doing okay and gets points for being close enough to produce the "I remember this" feeling and therefore is satisfying. Keep in mind I missed these ports entirely, I would personally hope for a redux version with updated control interfaces menus and possibly added "start-y" screens with both added and expanded resolution options. IDEALLY I would, and we should, hope/ask for a "reskin redux" (with a classic/ original option) all done in OpenGL. That is not touching the play mechanics AT ALL. (From the originals.) Even a quality Cell/Texture-shadey goodness parroting the originals with all manner of visual improvements like rays and weather etc for MK1 through MK4 and Ultra. (MK4 needed some work it never got lets face it.) I mean where you transfer the experience with the time/tech that has elapsed and it fools you into thinking it is the original and seeing the true original is a shock. I think they can make it work. (Make money on it. Standard package don't have to do it again. Keep it available gog. a MK 1,2,3 and a 4, ultra and "the other one no one ever played" "redux" packages..) EVEN AT A SALE PRICE OF 50 CENTS A PIECE I can't make it work for me. SAVE YOUR MONEY. To have something worth paying for something needs to be done.

As an FPS fan; One on the short list classics with a different pacing than the Doom, Duke 3d, type of run, gun, secret, repeat, action mechanism Redneck Rampage has a greater emphasis on searching and finding buttons, levers, and monochrome keys that at first is a puzzling exercise of what it actually looks like and finding it requires patience something unexpected and un-normal in the modern design pattern. The puzzles are clever and at times difficult as in the case of the Smelting Plant which too TWO DAYS for me to figure out how to get out of it. After the enemies are dealt with patience is the key to victory. The frustration in not finding something for a time in Redneck Rampage is offset by the amount of satisfaction it delivers upon succeeding. Something I was quite surprised and pleased with. The "having to find something-ness" that was traded for quick rewards and "addiction pacing" in modern titles is something to be learned, and experienced, but DOES need some getting used to but is a treat to be sure. The character and tone of the game is not a serious one, and it IS a quirky Redneck shooter that is as unique as it gets. It's hard to explain the amount of work Redneck Rampage shows in the design and it's actually rather amazing. This is a DOS era title that just aims to please, and as they often were back then with coarse and clever humor that has most regrettably in this day been forgotten. While FUN has been forgotten traded for pseudo serious straight faced action that has become more extreme and less satisfying there are GEMS like Redneck Rampage to remind us of what can be achieved with light, if not crude, (Perhaps too crude for some) humor, and themes. Tornado in a trailer park. aliens, inbred yokels and the kin. It is very fitting and adds to the overall character of the game. The music is very listenable, very memorable and likely to be something that gets stuck in your head. In a nut shell they don't make them like this anymore. When "AAA titles" (Triple A) show their age, simplicity, and marketed "boy band/girl band" like formula in a matter of months becoming an embarrassment to have on the shelf. There's games like Redneck Rampage holding their own and setting standards (ignored ones, your bad.) 20 years later. The 'cuss pack' is not required but is a surprising addition unexpectedly adding to the overall theme in a cohesive manner. I have played MANY first person shooters. It is a challenge to think of ones I haven't played. I highly recommend Redneck Rampage (Please note It IS a game that is going to get you a time or two. Maybe a key on a bale of hay, just sitting near a tree, something under the water or something plain that WILL escape your attention. Think practically and not METHODICALLY and it will be come easier to find things.)

Blood is one of the last greats before the end of the DOS era. It is likely one of the best and greatest classics of all time. It actually still manages to be creepy at times with its visual style based entirely on the concept of the classic B-movie horror motif (which makes light of horror) it has it's moments of being genuinely creepy. For it to have a sound and style that can manage creepy in 2019 (since we are a month away.) Considering that we live in a super GRAPHICS based era (where content over style ISN'T the main focus) with boring gore fests becoming yawn inducing. Blood is an example of content with style worked into the pie, and it works. It MAY be the first game to use the The simple fire / alternate fire weapon combination. IT IS the first game I ever encountered it on and the ONLY one of it's era that I can even recall. In short I wish they still made them like this. It raises the question where did these Devs go, and why don't we get these 5 star games without the passe "AAA graphics" BAIT. "Triple A" Is dead Already and Blood is still kicking. See for yourself. You can't really go wrong and If anything it may push your buttons a bit. :D
