Baldur's Gate 3

act1 and act2 are fun act3 not so much

Not sure what it is about Act but I just don't enjoy it like I enjoyed acts 1 & 2. Maybe because you suddenly can't just slaughter your way through Baldur's Gate even though the game kind of makes it seem like you'll end up doing that just trying to get into the city... It feels like a lot of plot elements fall apart in the city too or you have to do things that seem like they should have consequences but for some reason they don't where as in the rest of the game killing a random rat might even have consequences... Overall I thought Acts 1&2 were a blast though. And it felt really well thought out and designed... well except for an aspect about the map... I felt like the progression in 1&2 was well done and handled but various things fell apart in act3. As for the map, I really hate cramped convoluted but super over detailed maps. .Basically the overall size of each map is pretty small but they have "walls" all over the place to make it seem like place A and place B are really far apart even though on the map/as the crow flies A&B are next to each other. There's nothing wrong with a larger map that had some dead space in it IMO and I find it preferrable to what we have here. Also another complaint kind of. Don't bother with trying an evil play through. The game just isn't really designed to allow that in a really fun manner. It's great though as a goody-2-shoes, or even as a pragamatist, but evil.. not so much at least not if you want to also enjoy the companions

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Mythic Edition

hmm fun at times but often tedious

I'm having a tough time really getting into this game. Mostly because there are just too many different "interruptions" in it. I just can't get into the "zone" playing it because of this. Also the game is pretty buggy still.. :( I haven't hit anything game breaking but numerous times I have to either reload from a save or flat out exit and restart to get past a bug. In other cases I end up using an edito/cheatr to correct mistakes the game make. The game looks really nice it's a nice implementation of a tabletop RPG But it kind of tries to be too many different things all at once I think. I'll probably slog through this and finish it though

Wasteland 3

more about squad combat and less an RPG

I liked WL2 better I think. The biggest thing that strikes me about this game is just how much more combat there is compared to how little else there is about it :( All I feel like I do is move a little bit on a given map then fight... move a little more, then fight and so on. There are conversations here and there but most of them don't feel like important either It's a great engine and I haven't run into any bugs, but it seems like almost all I do is the squad combat and the combat is a step backwards from what it was in WL2 a In 3 it's literally broken up between your team's turn and enemies turn rather than intermixing of individuals' turns I feel like each map is just too small and there just to to host a series of squad fights Choices don't matter all that much either and the overall flow of the game is really linear too I don't know... maybe you could fight the different children in a different order but the game seems mostly to give you everything on rails overall I feel like this was a wasted pre-purchase or whatever that whole effort was of buying it before they really started development and I probably won't order the next wasteland game until I see how much of an RPG it is if it even is one so really to sum it up: if you want an RPG skip this if you want a lot of turn based squad combat with guns (mostly) then this is your game

RimWorld - Royalty

doesn't add enough to the game

Yeah this adds some nice things to the game, but it's not enough of a change or addition to warrant the $20 price tag. I did pay for it though on steam mostly because I liked Rimworld itself so much. I kind of dislike some of the requirements higher level title impose as well. And I've yet to really use the psi abilities added to the game. The one thing I really like are the new techprints or whatever they're called that act as a lock and helper for some techs. But overall there's nothing I've found in the expansion that feels like a must have.
