Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete

A 2/5 game with a 5/5 deal.

I honestly don't understand what people enjoy about Neverwinter Nights 2. The main campaign is so sub-par that it’s a real struggle to stay invested. The AI in this game is maddening. Spellcasters often stop casting spells, even when you've specifically set their behavior to do so. They’ll mindlessly wander into combat—when they manage to find a path, but more on that later—and start attacking enemy mobs. If you switch to control that spellcaster, your other companions will either continue fighting whatever NPC they were engaged with, or they'll just stop and walk towards your currently selected character, often triggering attacks of opportunity, only for you to issue another spell command. There’s a strategy mode in this game, and many players recommend it as the best way to play. However, it’s painfully obvious that this wasn’t the intended approach by the developers, so you end up struggling to make sense of the combat mechanics. Now, let’s talk about the companions who simply stop following you and stand still midway through your journey. You can easily find yourself two men short, and when you check the map, there they are—two to three minutes away from you—because their AI just stopped working. If you switch to control them, get ready for the rest of your party to start walking towards them, forcing you to micromanage the entire situation again. The story is sub-par and uninteresting, the gameplay is weak, and the graphics are somehow less impressive than those in Neverwinter Nights 1. The characters are insufferable to listen to, and there's almost no one in your party who's likable. On the plus side, you do get all the expansions for a low price, so there's that at least. Overall, I did not enjoy my time with this game, and unfortunately, I’m not done yet. P.S.: No, I have not modded the game.

DUSK

It is so much FUN!

It is rare that we get games nowadays that are genuinely fun! Games tend to focus on you getting better, quicker with your reflexes and then just start getting more and more frustrating as you're placed against more and more "unfair" odds. That is not the case with DUSK. DUSK makes you a better player as you progress through the game without the game just being a frustrating choir. I felt so powerful, so badass and I had so much fun. It channeled my inner Quake 3 player reflexes. This game should NOT be passed up on. Get this game if you love old-school FPS games! The game is also quite scary. This game is SO GOOD! I cannot emphasise on what an amazing experience it was to play this game!

Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure

Truly a work of art!

It clearly shows that "Stuck in Attic" poured their herart into making this game. Everything from the immaculate drawn art, to the engaging storyline, smart pussles, quirky characters & atmosphere. I couldn't get over the Frame by frame animation, which is hand drawn, the self composed soudtrack and the voice acting. Of courrse- the voice acting fell short on some occasions, mainly drawn to the protagonist "Buzz", but other than that, It was fairly humorous and delivered with believability. Make no mistake: This is a point and click advcenture game. One of those that would normally draw you to the point of insanity when it came to figuring out pussles. You'd sit there screaming out "How the F* was I suppoused to figure that out?!" after you'd look up a walkthrough after giving up at tinkering on a pussle for nearly three hours. This game does NOT have that issue at all. The pussles all make sense. Everytime I got stuck, i would constantly go "ahhaaaaaa" once i figured it out. I never once looked up a walkthrough, just went with my gut feeling. Pussles and clues are not insanily hard, nor insanely easy- they make you think! And that's the charm of an adventure game in my opinion. The game is nearly designed to perfection by the love and devotion from the game studio. You have these small "quality of life" features that were implemented. For example: Double clicking at an area makes your character go there faster, hold down space bar to see every interactive object in the visinity double click the purple arrow to instantly get taken to a new zone. I truly do LOVE this game. I have not had this much FUN with a game for quite some time. It has a decent length to it and is crafted with so much love that it is impossible to describe. However- Where the game falls flat is: This is a cthulhu game. i expected some more horror elements from this, rather than just comedy. Other than that: Buy this game. Play it! It is so damn good that I can't even describe it properly!

Katana ZERO

The best game i've purchased from GOG.

A game should challange it's player and make it's player improve by slowly amping up the difficulty, but never in such a way that you hit a brick wall. Katana Zero does so flawlessly. The smooth and slick movement and combat system is super simple and easy to adapt onseself to- However: It can also be mercilessly hard and push you to your limits, but never in such a way that makes you throw your controller across the room. The game makes you want to see things through and actually complete what you started. You know for a fact that everytime that you die that it is completely your fault, you did a mistake. You did not jump at the right moment, roll, attack, deflect. The game is never "unfair" to you. It is mercilessly fair and should you do a mistake, you will know by dying. The soundtrack is fantastic and it sets the mood perfectly for this dystopian world that we're in. The story is very in depth and complex, you start by not caring at all, since it is a side-scrolling action platform-esque game. However, you do start caring about your character and the characters that surround him. I will recommend this game to anybody at any given time. Amaizng work!

An amazing game that keeps on giving.

cdprojektred have outdone themselves so much in this game. The voice acting (the english one, obviously) Is spot on, the immersion is there, the lore is everywhere, the characters are interessting and the quests (heck, even the side quests) are great. The game could use a bit of tweaks here and there performance wise, other than that, the game is so incredibly good, it just makes my mind explode, merely thinking of it. The world is huge, the variety of monsters are vast, there are so many lore books and character codexes to read. The game is a challenge (don't play on easy or normal, seriously, don't. Trust me, you won't enjoy the game if you do.) The only complaint I have is that the combat of this game is still quite off at times. Even though, it does not suffer from the incredibly OP-ness of Quen and Axii from it's previous game, the combat does get repetetive. However, that is the only weak point core game wise I have to mention. This game shows that a publisher can give a consumer what they really pay for. A Season pa-- *cough* sorry, a Expansion pass, 16 free DLC's that is just a bunch of haircuts, and so much god damn content! Nothing feels like it was cut out of the game, to later become a DLC. I have so much more to do! The minigames are so much fun! (Gwent, FTW), and god damn it, i can't stop typing. Brb, just gonna play some witcher.
