Heed the recent reviews

It simply doesn't run. I have 4 minutes in-game time, and all of those 4 minutes were from the 1-2 seconds it takes to click play and have it close on its own. Sadly, this game will probably be going on a growing list of games that simply do not work. Like most games on the list, the main solution suggested is to download some random person's unofficial patch. I should be asking for refunds instead of eating the cost. Eventually I just won't spend my money here anymore. I understand it's probably difficult to keep these old games running properly, but it IS actually more fun to just set my money on fire then spend it on this.

So Good

After just downloading the recent FREE update to what I consider the best anti-gravity racer ever made, I felt a little guilty for never voicing my opinion before. There is nothing I have to say about this game that is negative. There are tons of tracks. There are tons of vehicles. The music is fantastic. The visual style is the best possible outcome of attempting to fuse the style of the original futuristic racers with something that isn't off-putting to a newer audience. There are lots of options to tweak the visuals to what looks best for you. With the latest update, you basically have a THIRD physics style for controlling your vehicles. They all feel very different, and this last one is so flightly and lightweight. It's a blast. Things I didn't think needed tweaking are even better. The UI is so much cleaner now, and feels a lot easier to navigate. They messed with some of the UI colors and everything just stands out so much nicer now. This is where I will concede a bit on one of the main criticisms. On steam you have very easy access to adding a lot of the mods (new tracks, new vehicles, etc.) directly to the game, and I'm sure it is a much nicer experience playing online. They make a point on their website about the DRM-free nature of the game, even on steam. But you are here, on GOG, so you should know what you are getting into. It's a bit more work getting your hands on community content, but it isn't that hard. It's like the Mario Maker of anti-grav racers. And there are some track creators out there that are putting out stuff that looks and feels like they belong in the base game. It's wild. I have spent maybe $25 total on this game. Base game, a handful of nice DLC packs, and tons of free updates. All from an indie developer that has created an anti-grav racer that exceeds the greatness of the originals, in my opinion.
