Bought this after Silksong dropped, and the hype is real: this is A Great Metroidvania. It doesn't do anything really revolutionary, but the trick, if anything, is that everything Hollow Knight tries to do it does really well. The story is interesting, somber, and paced well. The enemies and level design are finely-tuned, simple and consistently fun. The game mechanics all feel like they're at the perfect intersection of 'inobtrusive' and 'considered', and they trickle out at the perfect pace. It's a really, really, really good game. If you're a fan of the genre, don't sleep on it like I did.

In many ways, Nemesis feels like the apotheosis of the original PlayStation-era of the Resident Evils. It's bigger, more complex, and more bloody than the previous two games, and I think it might just be the best of the three. Loved the branching paths, loved the lushly detailed environments, and Capcom's oddball 90's Gothic has never been more on point. A must-play survival horror. Full marks.
