System shock I of the game I have really fond memories of. Exploring the station in a really none linear way, with a mad A.I. - that you helped to create - chasing you down with an army of cyborgs, mutants, and robots. System shock is ... to use 1 word: Awesome. But more the bloody f*cking awesome kind. The plot is amazing, even if it's very simple and straight forwards, there are really some moments in the game that are blood curdling. The voice-acting and music in System shock is brilliant, I remember getting the original CD version with a lot of voice acting. The primary villain in the story is just amazing as well, Shodan still ranks really high on the list of best villains ever. Sure, System shock had flaws: Low definition engine, hard to master control scheme, sometimes overwhelming interface. But the story and immensity of the game more then make up for these flaws. And now for an inspirational quite from one of the best villains of all times: "Look at you, hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone. Panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect immortal machine?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iZMD_eCpEo

Startopia ranks really high for me as a space based builder sim. If you played Theme Hospital, or Dungeon Keeper, you'll get the controls right away, the construction interface is pretty much the same. Startopia has some extremely great humour, and the graphics while a little dated are still great.

I remember MOO2 from my early computer days, it has a very high "one more turn" factor. Not the full 5 stars though, as you progress through the larger game types, the game can become slightly stale and repeating. Also once you find out that certain weapon modifications are extremely potent it not hard to win even at higher difficulties. All in all, definitely a game worth to play.

Alpha Centauri (now with Alien Crossfire) is one of those game with a high: "One more turn factor" A nice addition to your game list. "I don't know but I've been told, Deirdre's got a Network Node. Likes to press the on-off switch, Dig that crazy Gaian witch!"

The game plays like the first Fallout, but I missed the sense of urgency that was felt in the first game. All-in-all a great game to own.

Like the title of the review says, fallout is an extremely enjoyable game. As the Vault Dweller from Vault 13 are tasked with a simple objective, finding a water chip. This quests takes you along a good portion of the American West Coast in a Post-Apocalyptic setting. The game is relatively easy to understand, but there is a great deal of things you can discover when going in depth into the story/mechanics. A true gem to own.

Many youthful hours went into this game, while the game seems easy enough to understand, there is a certain depth to this game that not many games since have truly matched. Together with several other turn-based games Colonization has a very high "One-More-Turn" feeling when you look at the clock and it is 10:00 pm and when you look again it is suddenly 2:00 am. As with other similar Turn-Based-Strategy games of the era in the late game managing your colonies can become a bit stale.
Battle Isle: The Andosia War, if you played BI: Insurrection you'll know the main cast of this game. But BI: TAW is nothing like BI, BI2, and/or BI3 were those games were purely tactical BI: TAW has a real time strategical element to it in which you'll have to build a base and manage it. The Tactical phase of the game is still turn-based. The including of the base management part is fun as it gives you something to do during the enemy turns, which sometimes are sooooo slow when the game is calculating the enemy movements. The missions are often quite long and segmented as in move units to objective A then complete objective B followed by objective C. After a while the tactical phases can get stale while you are twiddling your thumbs for the enemy to complete their tactical turn. The story/plot is quite engaging at least. 4/5 Stars, good game, but has it flaws.
