So. Beamdog did another one. Admittedly this one is actually a net positive for once since an EE release actually brought a lot of new blood to the table. The game itself is riddled with new bugs that beamdog is painfully slow to fix and it tends to cause a lot (and I mean a LOT of crashing). You might say this makes nwn unplayable, but there is a but there. A big, HUGE but. The multiplayer and modding comminity. NWN has one the greatest platforms for multiplayer servers in existence by allowing developers to make their own custom content using the engine and go wild. Beamdogs release has brought new life to this game and it's community and that alone makes it worth the purchase. Where before we had a few dozen players across the whole game now we have hundreds. And the servers on multiplayer are top notch as far as what they're trying to do. Do you wanna play an omli me D&D game? Do you want to role play? NWN IS absolutely the place for you. The creation beamdog server list boasts hundreds of high quality persistent world servers where you play both in character and with the actual game mechanics. It's literally as close to playing 3.5 as you can get without having a table in front of you and dice in your hand in a lot of cases. So beamdog is a hit and a miss on this one. This experience is like literally no other game and I've never seen anything else that offers anything like it. A couple of clones have tried and failed. This is the OG as far as community developed content. If you're just playing the base game you are missing out completely on what the game has to offer. So. Beamdogs changes to the game don't even warrant noting. The multiplayer experience and community are where it's at. If you're new, give it a look. We'd love to have you.
