I was looking for a RPG, and HuniePop showed up and was already in my library. I rarely stay dedicated to a game beyond a week, so I was looking for a game in which I could achieve. This game scratched the itch. Understanding the finer points of the match-3 mechanics took a little bit, Regardless, even with mess-ups, I was able to proceed and not feel as if I needed to start the game over. I can see myself getting 5 hears with all of the ladies within 2 weeks. Knocked off a star for the interface. Would be nice if arrow keys would work and could dismiss some pop-ups without clicking the mouse outside of the dialog. Also, in-game help would have been nice.
My fourth AVN played and THE best to-date! Received this game in a bundle, as I probably would have passed it up based upon name, title graphic and description. All of the characters are likeable and I grew to love them with their flaws or flawed past. In fact, if I had to be confined to a fantasy world, it would be with these characters. I played through the first time, and felt that I could find a better ending, not just selfishly for my character, but for all characters. This is the first AVN that I have replayed for the story. In real life, saving a damsel in distress leads to a distressed damsel. Not the case in this story, and I ventured to "save" or develop a relationship with a different character. After my second play-through, I was more of a hoe, thinking that it would not matter, which was a very wrong conclusion. Unfortunately, a choice made scenes ago in the story impacted the outcome that I attempted to achieve. This was despite that the primary character impacted was not part of the scene. Loaded two different saves ... playing less of a hoe. This is the first game where I have appreciated the skip feature. On my third play-through, I achieved the desired ending from my second attempt and I met a new character! Even after I complete what may be my 4th or 5th play-through, I could play through again. Early in the game you chose a trait that will impact choices. I can't imagine how the branching option change selecting a different trait. With no voice acting, it is amazing how much the music adds to setting the story mood. At $10 this AVN is a steal as the branches are developed! Plan to become emotionally involved. This was also my first AVN played on Ubuntu and I was pleasantly surprised that despite an install warning, it played with no issues.
My third AVN played. Jennifer is a likeable character, however, she ends up in bad situations that generally have bad and worse options. I took the high-road path and the ending was a win-lose scenario. I have no desired to play the game again to see alternate endings, because I would not want the alternate choices for the character. Bought on sale and would not recommend paying full price.
My second AVN played. Lust Theory was a great buy for $10, giving a $1/hour of entertainment. It is essentially a sexual-themed "Groundhog Day" and I had fun figuring out how to get the game to progress. Only gripe is like other games, where you can define character relationships at the start. In addition to fill in your own relationship, the game needs to suggest relationships with maybe two suggestions based upon taboo or non-taboo. Bought Season 2 when it went on sale and look forward to playing.
GOG's NSFW sale caught my attention -- sex sales. I selected "Summer with Mia Season 1" as my first AVN to play as it was only 3 GB. I was not disappointed with my first session being three hours, hoping to complete the story. This was a very good first AVN. The game starts with confusing prompts, for those that want to change relationships to prevent taboo acts among a family unit. I attempted to answer the prompts to define relationships, but ended up with the "mother character relationship" defined as "room". My scenario was Mia and I are friends, staying with my brother and his wife. I'd recommend that the developer suggest relationships and give an option to fill in the blanks, for example boss and wife with two interns from work. The game also has one other prompt about characters having multiple relationships. For someone new to the genre, I did not understand based upon the prompt and it would have been nice for the developer to explain. I selected "no", but based upon activities encountered during game play, I am not sure of the impact. The encounters have enough jiggling to be stimulating and most are from the male perspective. Most body parts are unnaturally sizes, but that's part of the appeal. I am not a woman, but if females are fine with the traditional male-created porn, then the title should appeal to them. Plenty of shots of the male member for the eyes during encounters. The game starts out giving you a choice as to where to go in the house. This disappears as the game progresses. The player does receive occasional prompts to make a choice. After getting into the game, I did not miss navigating the house. The game offers over 50 save slots, automatic saves and a quick saves. It also has a gallery, so once a scene has been viewed during progression in the novel, the gallery makes for an easy way to return to a favorite encounter versus having to rely on a save slot. Found one gallery entry that caused the game to crash.
