These games are quite retro, and good if you want to play the original as they have a great story. However they are a pain to play as they use a old fashion text parser, in which you have to enter (the correct) text command to interact with things in the game. GOG might not like me stating this but as has been mentioned in previous posts Space Quest 1 was re-released with improved VGA graphics, and the more user friendly point-and-click interface. Further Space Quest 2 was re-released by Infamous Adventures, with improved VGA graphics, interface and speech. This can be downloaded freely from their website. In my humble opinion you are better off giving the original releases by GOG a miss and playing the VGA remakes.

I really enjoyed the first game in the series so bought this recently over GOG. However in this game the plot and story is really boring and dull and the gameplay is mediocre at best and there is very little carry over story from the original game. I played it for about 15 minutes and no longer wish to play it again.. I feel ripped off :(

This is one of those classic games that I never got around to playing back in the day. Recently bought it off GOG and I loved it, its a bit of shame I never got a chance to play it as a kid. Already clocked up massive amounts of hours staying up late at night because its addictive and great fun. Its kind of like the more modern dungeon building game 'Evil Genius'. In response to some of the previous user comments I have been running it off Windows 7 and are having no compatibility issues. I guess GOG got around to fixing some of these issues. Although it did crash once or twice as I was trying to restart a level. But otherwise hours of game play without any problems.

This game is a shocker. Although I haven't purchased it from GOG, we purchased it from a store shortly after it came out. We bought it because it is associated with the excellent Might & Magic/Heroes of Might and Magic series produced by 3DO. It was designed for PlayStation and adapted to release on PC, according to wikipedia the developers only had 7 months to port it. The game is short, extremely buggy and boring to play. An ingame economics system was never developed an their is limited items to find and use. The modelling is poor and the voice acting is terrible. Another thing to note is the developers crudely reused the soundtrack from Heroes of Might and Magic 2 in this game. Terrible game, avoid wasting your money and buy one of the other great games GOG sells instead. This game is so bad GOG should release it for free rather than disappointing any would be buyers.
