CoC: DCotE is one of the greatest games ever made imo. This is a pretty good port, but not perfect. Maybe I got unlucky, but I'm consistently getting this bug where the journal and evidence documents are practically unreadable. This is a pretty big issue as it detracts from the overall experience, removing a lot of the lore from the game and forcing me to look up safe codes that would have otherwise been hidden in clues in the various documents.
It's better than the Steam version, sort of. There's still a glaringly terrible bug. Menus and journal entries just stack on top of eachother, making the journal unreadable and useless. This makes the game much more of an unenjoyable chore to play. Still a great game. It just would be nice if someone would take the time to release a proper PC version of it.
I just started playing it and had a pretty good village going! But I found a CTD bug: If you abandon a quest, but the quest expires at the same time that you are abandoning it, it causes the program to CTD.
The game won't launch.
what can i say? it is a great game!
