Blackwind

Mostly a good game!

The combat is quite fluid and fun, the music and voices are good. The environments, units and mechs all look very nice. The main thing wrong is that the controls are unresponsive when trying to do the jumping puzzles. This hardly matters in the normal flow of combat, but when you need to land a precision jump, it becomes EXTREMELY frustrating! Thankfully the number of times you need to use the super jump ability are very few and far between. I'd not pay full price for this, but it's definitely worth a buy on sale.

Waking

It's kind of annoying.

There is a keyboard rebind screen, but you can't use Shift as a key. It has the ability to select resolution, but no ability to configure graphical effects. It looks horribly blurry all the time, taking away from my ability to actually enjoy the environment. The combat is needlessly convoluted. It's trying to be an emotional story, but it just annoyed me.... because unlike Senua's Sacrifice and others which tell a cohesive story, this one just misses the mark. You can't make me associate with a character just because I pick a couple traits that I vaguely associate with! All things together just irritate me, so I quit playing after the first few areas and a couple boss fights. I do not recommend!

Kind of bad....

The only reason to use this is to allow access to research sites which are now covered in water! The boats are slow and have NO reasearch options to improve their speed. The routes they take are extremely inefficient... much better to get resources on land, even if you have to set up a new base far away! Piers and shipyards hold a lot of resources, yet they get auto destroyed when the tied rises. This is totally unfair! Why can't they be built in the water with floating or concrete pillar style roads into the land areas? Do you need this? If you want anything in the water, yes. Is it going to add anything significant to the gameplay at the moment? NO! If the devs fix all the boat speed and logistics problems, it might be worthwhile. For now just by the base game; it's great!

Great game overal!

The story is awsome! I got really immersed and the characters seemed real Music is nice; visuals are nice. The biggest positive about this game aside from the story is it's totally chill expansionist gameplay. Do you remember minecraft mining before they made the food system into a timer? It's like that! I get in the zone and just keep going... it's so much fun! Once I got going, I played mostly at 16x speed with pausing anytime I wanted to look at something/build, etc. The one time I switch to normal speed (1x) is when there is an incoming call; I don't want to miss anything because it's so important to the story! The game does lag a bit while the ai is active at x16 speed, but once you wreck their base, it goes back up to max speed. I played this on windows 7 and it ran great!

DYSMANTLE

Very good, akin to original Dark Souls.

It has many powerful opponents, collectibles, building, challenges and many beautiful environments! The combat is fast and fluid, with half being stats from your items and half being your skill. By the end of the game, I was able to take on and win against 5 of the most powerful melee enemies at the same time. The story is very interesting and even a bit weird as you go on. I only have two complaints: 1) the one challenge room, the ark, requests MASSIVE amounts of resources. This is actually ok for farming because you can plant, then go explore and come back to harvest later. It works with the natural flow of the game, without ever upgrading your farming. However after farming, it starts asking for non-farmable resources. They also want EVEN MORE then the farmable ones! The devs seem to think the player should invest double the time into ONE optional objective then that of the entire base game! I was disgusted! 2) the second optional objective is a pyramid, which requires finding and finishing EVERY tomb in the game. This is also a ridiculous expectation due to some of the tombs being very hard. For me, it was the timed tomb... it was impossible! So I've completed every single tomb in the game but this one and the devs are like, no f-you, you can't see what's in there. I was VERY angry! Timers are never a good idea.

A cute story

Colourful characters, some adult artwork (if you get the patch) and an interesting story about animal girls. I bought it on sale and it was well worth it. Not sure I'd buy it at full price. Just one word of warning: Do NOT select the everyone ending or the story will end WAAAAY too soon. You are supposed to select one of the girls and that's where the actual endings are.
