Baldur's Gate 3

Great Action RPG Game

Incredible graphics aside (which still have decent settings for recent cards), this is a greatly acted action RPG. It's still in development, and has some minor story holes, but it's complex enough that you'll be rewarded for poking around exploring and finding powerful weapons/challenging enemies, as well as twists to the story line. The one thing that you're warned about is that the game's allies are different enough that you won't be able to make them happy, so be warned about that. I have started three different games just to get with different characters/factions, and I can't wait until I can actually beat it.

Cyberpunk 2077

A missed chance

The game is good, provided you can run it (the recommended specs are the minimum for barely medium settings). The only downside I found to it was that the story is not quite as engrossing as the Witcher, as I'm sure that the effort in graphics detracted from quests and story quality. Think of it as the witcher meets fallout, without the really cool and piercing social commentary of fallout. If you're ok with that, give it a shot, otherwise skip.

The Outer Worlds

If Fallout had focus

This is not an open ended game like Fallout or Skyrim. You will need to advance the story to be strong enough to explore, and this story has a focus. This being said, this game is extremely solid, in the style of Fallout but in space. The graphics are great and the game engine runs really good on most cards. The sound is incredible, but I recommend headphones to play this to be immersed. The controls are good with either a controller or a keyboard and mouse, so pick whichever. My only gripe with the game is that you'll want to play it at least three times with different factions to see the dialogs and different quests, which might turn off a lot of people since the road to this is not quite so clear, unless you play with a guide. I enjoyed my time with the game, it's really funny and playing the game as a low intelligence character on a second playthrough, and you can play the game with flaws on your stats to balance you out.

Control Ultimate Edition

Solid Action/Adventure that plays great

A short explanation of this game is The Force Unleashed as it should've played. But this is a solid action adventure game that has an insane story and atmosphere, that will suck you in until the very end. The controls are tough to master, but once you do you'll be destroying hordes of enemies. The graphics are great but demanding, although the game looks amazing even on medium settings. Be sure to play this with headphones or on a big system, because the audio is also amazing. There is one boss on the game that is optional, the anchor, that has given lots of people issues with their cards, both here and other platforms, but that's not a GoG issue, but the developer's. If you encounter this issue and want to defeat it, I recommend putting a ticket with Remedy. I did got over it through reducing the graphics settings, but I'm not so sure it has been patched yet. I beat this twice and wish there was a sequel at some point in the future.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York

Wrong genre listed here

This is not an RPG, it's actually a visual novel, and like most of them there's very little room to change in certain key aspects of the story. If you are OK with this, take a bite into a visual novel about VTMB, just know that this is just a clickable novel, and not an RPG. Had this been emphasized in the marketing and in the store genre, then it wouldn't receive all this terrible rating. Now onto the more technical aspects, every decision is saved and there's no way to go back besides restarting the game, and the game does not have voice overs, just music and ambient noises. The backgrounds, most of them are beautifully animated, but that's it, and the characters are not animated either. That being said, as a visual novel, the story is great, and so is the art.

The Council

A Flawed But Amazing Political Game

Without ruining much, this is a great and interesting political aventure/narrative game that has some serious flaws, like some ocassional glitches requiring you to restart a chapter (the developer has been steadily fixing those), but the story and replay value is high if you're into historical fantasy games and exploration games. The game is a bit harder than most, so if you're not writing stuff down or have a will to remember stuff, this is going to be a maddenning game. Those flaws in place, there's nothing like this game out there and I hope there is either a sequel or an offshoot.
