This game got me hooked on the RPG genre when it first came out. It is the PC version, so yes, it is a CGA game. But it is a game that still impresses with its complex fighting rules that are much deeper than the D&D games that SSI produced later. I still play it and it's still enjoyable!

I could not get this to run properly on TWO different new Windows11 machines with plenty of power. I could not get it to use the mouse. It does work with a controller, but I absolutely hate using controllers for games like this. FYI all other games on my PC and laptop run fine with my mice (sharkoon and Roccat). And that is over 200 games in total at the moment... Ended up asking for a refund.

Yes, the game does work on Windows 10. Just tell Windows 10 to start it in windows 98 compatibility mode. After all, the game is a Windows95/98 game. After that. it plays just like the game I loved and spent so much time on 20 years ago. And it still feels like a good game according to current standards. a bit like Diablo with a dash of humor

I just installed this on Windows 10 (sept 29 2016) and it runs without a problem in full HD mode (1920*1080 resolution) so maybe it is a video driver related problem? I have an Asus laptop with a Geforce GTX 950M videocard. Everything updated with the latest drivers.

I remember having to visit the only shop in town that sold computer games in the Good Old Days. Going there in eager anticipation if the new SSI game had finally arrived or not. Living in the Netherlands, you never knew when they would arrive. And I remember the long nights looking at my ATI EGA-Wonder screen in 16 glorious full-colour shades of green... The only thing now missing in my collection of memories-to-replay is Wizards Crown. The SSI game that started the RPG experience for me. Oh yes, for those that complain that they can't get the screen back in fullscreen mode: read the DOSBOX manual that comes with the game. Or press ALT-ENTER... And yes, DOSBOX runs on Windows 10!!!
