Modern PC support out of the box and controller support is the only key feature here. The textures were given an upscale, but you'll want to use a head mod from nexus/nwvault to update visuals for npcs. Hoping that they do some patching as there's new issues such as the voice selection currently plays the sound for the previous entry
The chapter timers can be a bit of a pain, but it's a great adventure in the style of Baldurs gate but with 3rd edition style rules and the pathfinder setting. This game alone got me interested in Fay in campaigns
A bit of thinking involved in character creation, but that can be fun itself. Strategy style combat which is optionally turn based is a big plus. An epic journey with all the character moments you expect and questions of sacrifice and the nature of evil
The game has a great amount of responsiveness to your playstyle and choices. Minor issues include that the game creates a sense of urgency and then relies on you to be a narcoleptic sloth because the plot triggers when you sleep and if you go too fast can break it. The 3rd act really falls off after how engaging the first 2 are
You build settlements of huts that you occupy with settlers with, simple defenses, but the key fun is how magic may be used to manipulate the world to access previously inaccessible areas or cut off enemies from resources/access or just unleash destruction. One of the funnest experiences is using magic to create land bridges so your enemies no longer prioritise you and start to invade each other whilst you build an army of fire shooting balloons or set off a volcano in one of their bases. The missions have varied objectives, threats and opportunities and enemy spellcasters are a real danger.
With 2 new adventures so far due to the renewed Premium Module program, a new 64bit on the way, vast multiplayer fixes and even the possibility to run massive MMORPG servers now it's great to see the new love for one of the most moddable versions of DnD with all the tools you need to easily make your own adventures. With the new renderer updates fans are even updating the graphics alongside the new module releases.
