The Sinking City Remastered

Much better.

I own the original and to my surprise This one appeared on my account.. RESPECT! I see this as the updated version and the one to play if you're planning on commencing a new game. In my case, I had to start all over because I was on a particular part in the old one (not that far) and this remaster doesn't work with original saves. But in the end it was all worth it, Let me elaborate. Combat was balanced a lot, thank goodness because its this game's weakest point in my humble opinion. Enemies are no longer a mechanical frustration, they are challenging but not to a fault; balance. Gun play its still shotty (no pun intended) but workable. Story its great, very intriguing however the ending was lackluster; won't spoil you but it reminded me of a cheap horror film.. Think "Dagon (2005)" It wasn't fulfilling but in a weird way I was glad I played the game. The atmosphere is top notch in my experience, from the aesthetics to the vocal performance to the sound to the graphics. The game can indeed look astonishingly great with raytracing however I don't have the luxury to actually use that in a playable setting so I had to make do with what I have which is an RX6700XT and the performance (without raytracing or upscaling) was great in high settings at 1080p. This remaster is an improvement all around to the original specially since I wasn't all that happy with the OG's performance and frustrating balancing issue all around. The thing that really shines through with this game is it's investigative mechanics.. Great great job! this game gives off Sherlock Holmes vibes since this was made by the same studio that brought out the last Sherlock games. This is where this game shines, couple that and H.P. Lovecraft's settings' atmosphere and this game is what you're looking at. I personally enjoyed it for what it was and while disappointed with the OG at first, it then grew on me and started playing until I actually started to enjoy it. Anyways, with all the shenanigans put to rest, Looking forward to the Sinking City 2.

Wreckreation

I wanted to love it so much..

Positives: Music selection is good Car graphics are good Weather Dynamics are pretty good! Car Customization is very well done Negatives: Menus ( Too much of these little side menus.. the video and game options have no business there TBH, makes it have too much clutter) Distant environment graphics can look bland and not as defined... I think they could have employed better tactics to hide this Photo Mode looks a bit rough, can use some polishing Lack of open world variety (No desert areas, no urban city areas, it is all pacific mid-west style terrain) I remember this game had some type of tag that read "From the creators of burnout" or some connotation like that, cant say verbatim but the idea had definitely been planted therefore, the standard also was conceived. Burnout paradise pretty much does everything better gameplay wise and sometimes even graphically. The game definitely has vision and I think the game should have been worked on more before it got released. Let me expound on that: As of 10/28/25 * There are various wreck glitches where if you so much as scrape a civi car, you crash * Sometimes you have invisibility where you don't even get into a wreck and that goes for the rival cars on the map when exploring as well. * Some car's customization like paint or engine sounds reset or get randomize upon an event retry * Sometimes the respawn rate of cars in roadrage is too low. For example: sometimes I would have a goal of 5/5, 3 spawn, i take down the 3s but I'm left either waiting for some cars to spawn behind me or trying to catch up to the cars that spawn way ahead of me, causing me to sometimes fail the event. * The cars handling needs more work: Racing type cars handling have the habit of sharp turning too sharp very unpredictably, the muscle cars handle like boats which is good for them but its too much here.. * For all the pandemonium these drivers cause, there are quite a few police cars and ambulances patrolling with their sirens on, but they will do absolutely nothing about you or your rivals rending them useless.. just decor. Its a bit of a nitpick but annoying when you start realizing this, why even have them there? These things can indeed be fixed with patches and updates but what actually did it for me was the simple fact that, aside from my own fault in buying the game and thinking i would get the experience advertised was that, This is a game designed for online multiplayer in general, specifically with friends. This GOG version does not seem like it supports that hence it is listed as single player. More than half if not half of this game is exactly that. The live mixing is a core functionality that its centered around online play. Therefore, I had to refund the game because of the realization that this was going to get old and boring fast since I wont be playing with anyone.. Also, this: "This will be a World that you can decorate and personalize, either alone or in collaboration with your friends online. A place of your own where you can continually strive to outrace, out-stunt or even out-crash yourself and others with courses, tracks and game modes designed by you – or your friends – but yours will probably be better." That already broke my heart.. If such core feature is not available for GOG users than that $39.99 pricetag should be looking like $19.99 .. I had to refund the game. Oh and BTW, There is some concerns floating around about the assets of this game and how telling it is about this being an Unreal Engine Slop (Generic) or an asset flip, and while there is still fun to be had, its a little hard to unsee once you start noticing things like that! I can keep writing about so much nuances and negative things but I believe is because I really wanted this game to be the best it could be, and my regards to the ~10 people that worked on this game for making this game but in all honesty, this game should have been play tested a whole lot before rushing to a release and I say this in honest criticism and genuine desire to see a modern type burnout game that would be the ultimate experience.

No Man's Sky

Got my money's worth x29.99 more.

This game has siphoned so many hours of my life, in a good way! I don't play video games every day but when I'm tired, or when I'm bored, even tough I have a lot of games between gog and steam, I just start playing this game. This is without a doubt my pick up and play game. I don't think I reached end game quite yet because I get sidetrack by so many things.. but that's good as there is a lot of content in the game. I would give this game a 5/5 but that would be very biased so I'll be realistic and open and give this game a 4/5. Exploration really shines through here, the game uses some type of generation to give you different systems, worlds, fauna, and more. They did a great job with this game so no play through is ever the same when it comes to these things. There is some heavy lore that you have to seek out and learn about in game and online (I don't know if the online stuff is in the game as well.) but all in all, this game is exploration galore so enjoy a vast vast world(s). I cant say much here due to my personal setup but Performance is generally very good, despite sometimes being bugs and or memory leaks upon big updates. I play this game using a Framework 13 (on GNU+Linux) (i5-1240p / 32GB Ram / 1tb nvme) with an RX6700XT in a Razer Core X v2 eGPU enclosure. The game's settings are high (not ultra) with x16 Anistrophic filtering and FSR 2 on Quality. At the time of this review, I wish they would introduce FSR 3.1+ because 2.0 is not that great visually nor performative in my experience..Make sure you use Quality if you plan on using FSR 2.0 as Native is very taxing for some reason.. This game is not an MMO, closest thing to this game is kind of like a seamless live session where you invite or others invite you to their group, you go and free roam and or do missions. But you wont come across players in the open world unless you guys are in a group together. Which in my opinion its still great. Do yourself a favor and just buy it already.

TurretGirls

So glad I got this game..

You know what? After careful deliberation before the one gameplay hour I got today, i knew exactly what this was.. I LIKE IT! simple premise, great pricing though I wish there would have been more stages (currently there are 3) and i wish I could change my girl.. I was really hoping there would be more than 1 girl to pick :( however, combat wise, weapons wise, and customs' wise, I say the game is pretty good. Love the art style and the gameplay, kind of 'addicting' you find yourself playing for a bit until you look at the clock and viola! an hour has been siphoned out of you! This is a very arcade like experience with very light RPG elements all wrapped up in a simple on rails shooter. I say, buy it, have it around, thank me later :) **Inserts pepe raising his glass meme here** PS: Whats up with the actual title?? Turret girls? or Turret and girl? I was under the impression you will get more girls >:{

JDM: Japanese Drift Master

Awesome game, I'm so glad I bought it.

Extremely happy with this game, money well spent. This game reminds me of the golden age of Need for speed underground in the 2000s. This take on what seems to be Japan was a great move, I haven't gotten far but so far I am enjoying that you get to deliver sushi. Its refreshing to see things like this on a racing / drift simulator type game. The graphics are great, I appreciate the real life cars (licensed) I really love the manga style cut-scenes and the story, and also the music is great, great selection/variety of radio stations, and the much needed tutorials for me LOL. Some of the things I didn't particularly liked were the absence of civilians roaming or even inside buildings like restaurants. I also would have liked to see some kind of structural damage in things like cars or maybe even trees, though this may be some sort of limitation due to licensing and portrayal of brands and whatnot; that I understand. Aside from that, there aren't much things I can say that are a negative of this game. Great job to the devs, I can certainly see myself sinking in hours to this. Thank You for such a cool game. PS: Tokyo Drift, I'm out.

DOOM (2016) + OST Bundle

Coming from the steam version

Solid game, I own this game on steam and just bought it on gog for the sole reasons of actually owning it, and because of how awesome it its; The soundtrack is the audio version of this game. I haven't beat the story but I'm close to it, so far the combat is great, gory, and it has that DOOM feel. The enemy variety is great, and the levels as well. The amount of options is also great, and provides many different ways to scale out performance. In my humble opinion this is a solid PC game.

BIOMUTANT

SURPRISED ME!

This game has been an absolute blast. This game surprised me a lot. Never mind what some reviews says and dive into this one. The game is massive and you can do so many things... its amazing how much they packed in here. Take your time don't rush and just enjoy the game. I gave it a 4/5 because the one aspect that's actually not all that well is the sound mixing. I don't know what happened there but you'll need to tweak the sound levels and crank up your speakers/TV volume so you can get somewhat decent sound levels.. On that note once you get passed characters speaking gibberish, you'll enjoy the game for what it is. I absolutely love this game despite that!

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Great Game! must have in any collection

Just saw this here this morning; automatic buy! I have this game on steam and to see it on gog, my goodness that is awesome! this game's story is a breath of fresh air vs. having to play GTA, at least at the time. The game doesn't change its still good and being on that Asian setting really does set the game apart from the other open world games. The story is like some sort of Asian action flick and the DLCs are pretty good, short, but good and expand more on the Sleeping Dogs universe.. The tracks are banging, there were a lot of artists I started listening to because I listened to their tracks in this game, the game play is good, and It is nicely optimized; at least for my hardware which was all AMD at the time. Long story short get this game you will not regret it, specially if you dig true crime.. I wont spoil , that is all.

Killer is Dead: Nightmare Edition

Great Game; FUN.

This game was awesome! I will be buying this solely to support the devs, this game is both wacky, fun, and certainly anime-ish. The story mode length is OK, wished there was more development on the characters. The game play has lots of variety; has "dating sims" hack and slash, even some driving, though not that great, but is still an amazing game. The soundtrack is cool too, and even after you complete the game it has some things for you to do so... yeah get it! at the time of me writing this is 3.79 USD.

Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut

Quite The Journey.. I miss them all.

If you can get passed the graphics, some glitches, and some crashes be advised that this game is indeed a journey. I personally haven't had any crashes at all, I'm playing this game via wine within ArchLinux along with DPfix and goodness this game really captures how a town would be. This game has solid story and solid voice acting, It is also a weird mix of supernatural, horror, thriller, and somewhat of a simulator too, Once i beat the game i found myself missing the characters and the town of Greenvale itself. Quite the powerful experience. Also be warned that the controls are kind of awkward but thank goodness they are rebindable; also there are some technicalities which stand out... specifically the audio mix of the game. I'm an audio engineer and these things sticked like a sore thumb to me; I honestly felt sad because I could have done a way better job than whoever did that Lol. Anyhow, this is a great game despite its flaws, If you love story centric games this is your game! I would definitely recommend this to all my friends and enemies too :) such a great game.
