Stranglehold

Fantastic Action

As Amazing as the original Max Payne, with way more action, I played it years ago on Xbox 360 but for the price usually is on GOG.com please go for it, it still looks & plays gorgeous.

Blade of Darkness

Diamong in its time, still a jewel today

There are only one bad thing in this game, a kind of rude "walking control" like an old Tomb Raider style, or Resident Evil... but if you manage to cope with this, the combat is still one of the best melee combat ever developed as it´s far more modern than the walking mechanics for its time, and works much better, being also the main pillar of the gameplay. Everything else is good: 4 characters that are pretty different, giving the game a great replayability (I finished on it´s day with the four) Superb and dangerous melee combat full of graphic realism (in terms of CUT things and hurt enemies) something not common at all nowdays, because we all know killing enemies make them explode like a children piñata. right? Atmospheric landscapes with secrets, traps and tactical approaches for combat. Graphics that are still today, gorgeous, even if old. A great soundtrack.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six®

Didnt´aged well, at all

The game is what is it, a piooner on the tactical shooters, but it doesn´t hold nowadays at any level. Controls are way too messed up, with unnecesary reduntant keys, is more like a flight sim than a realistic shooter sim. Menus aren´t intuitive, AI is bad, gameplay is based in constant trial and error. It was a whole inmersive experience back in 1998, but even if some old games resist the pass of time, becoming intemporal classics , Rainbow Six isn´t one of them, it´s a classic, but it need it´s temporal context.

Star Trek™: Bridge Commander

One of the best Capital Ship Sims

Bridge Commander is not just a good StarTrek game, is a great Capital Ship combat simulator. The Campaign is short and not totally true inspired, but the skirmish mode, the community mods, and the gameplay make this game superb.

Cyberpunk 2077

Game is sublime, unpolished, unfinished

We are being really unfair with CRProject on this issue. Yes, game is buggy, yes it works terrible on XBOX One, ONE S and PS4. Works bad to "Okay" on PS4 PRO and Xbox One X, works bad in some PCs... all this will be fixed, not considering performance some of these consoles are from 2013 by all the gods... Game has amazing timing on decisions, amazing mood all over, superb arts, politically incorrect topics, dark topics, a good gun play and combat (but a so so AI) it makes me feel I am in "Strange Days" movie or Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, the characters progress is pretty good, the story is catchy, Night City is a place to visit that reminds me of big asian cities I lived on like Shanghai, Hong Kong or Taipei. CD Project is not Rockstar, they tried to make 9 "sku" all over by themselves, a big too much. They though they could manage it, it was too much, but I know will be fixed. This is a DIFFERENT game, out of many many stupid new trends... a game that dares to be dark in times all need to be despotically luminous, with games full of violence that explodes in "flowers" of colours all over... critizicing the work of this team is closing the door to someone that dared to do something really different. Yes, they did some things wrong, but is not like they will not fix it, think about THE WITCHER, the 3 of them. I absolutely recommend to buy this game, maybe not on vanilla PS4 or ONE, but we can also use it later on next gen... I am enjoying it on XBOX SERIES X and I cannot be more happy with it. I don´t give it 5 stars just because of the mess is the game in aspects for now, but I bet it will deserve 5 stars in less than half a year. Best of luck for CD PROJECT team, and I really wish you find the strength and time to fix this unpolished diamond.

Line of Sight: Vietnam

A hidden unperfect jewel, 3 or 4 stars

I don´t own the game here, but I played it many years ago. Same as KSE user review here Vietcong got much more attention when also in my opinion was equally flawed but in different aspects. Vietnam Line of Sight wasn´t scripted like the MOH games of that time, was more about stealth, and I need to say the scenaries were MUCH better than the ones included in Vietcong. Line of Sight was one of the first titles ever I seen with so many trees all over, that was a Jungle, and not a corridor full of scripts like Vietcong or Men of Valor were. The main problem with Line of Sight that interferes with a 4 star is that the AI was sometimes too clumsy or too efficient (but I need to say Men of Valor or Vietcong suffered exactly from the same issue), and that somehow lacks some more "war" levels instead of just stealth, but the experience of being in a jungle, and have different options to approach the enemy, not many but enough made it a very compelling game to consider, it may not be perfect, but is different and did some things very well. I will probably buy it again here very soon.

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech

Only game in the series I don´t like

Got most part of the SteamWorld series games. This one for whatever the reason I was not really tempted to buy it, didn´t know the reason but I trust my guts, and I don´t read magazines reviews anymore as a trustable place to choose games. The thing is that I got STADIA for free 2 months, and the game is free there, I am glad I didn´t bought it, I don´t think STADIA is my platform I prefer to have my games owned (like in GOG) but was good to try some games I don´t have, including this one, and I am happy I never bought it. To the game: Mechanics are good in terms of cards, but it really smells like they didn´t got enough time of developing things to deeply, it gets repetitive and it lacks "something" many other GOOD card games have, and this one, doesn´t. Graphics are sweet, as in all the franchise, but the places we visit lack all the charisma other games of the saga have. Is the characters and mostly the enemies, who are really cool. The Story is bad, the characters are bland, the story makes few sense and is barely and excuse to move you forward, never made me get into it at all. Music and sounds are as repetitive as the game itself. Metagame updating and crafting cards is just enough, again seems they lack deep for a "card game" Disappointing.

Diablo + Hellfire

GOG did a great job getting this

So after all the time waiting for a new classic jewel we got one from Blizzard. - If you still complain about the price or having not Hellfire, you just don´t know how difficult is to implement a long time forgotten expansion, even for blizzard. - If you still complain about the price, you are underestimating GOG work here, or the quality of an old jewel. - If you still complain about game mechanics, you are definitively not into classics, so why you do? Still the game is much better than many new ARPGs. Diablo was the beginning of actual ARPGs, Blizzard allows us to play Diablo 2 (And probably soon an HD version of it) plus Diablo 3 in several platforms. We couldn´t have until now, the TRILOGY on digital, it even works ONLINE you can just find some nice pals, time for it and complete the whole TRILOGY in cooperative mode. Thanks GOG for help us to complete this great trilogy on digital.

Forsaken Remastered

DESCENT like game but brights of its own

Just bought here the remaster, didn´t played it yet and I am not sure if it will be just make up, or a deeper remake. (Doesn´t look better than Turok 1&2 remasters) But beyond this I can assure for the many hours I played the original that it was Descent with much better Graphics (N64 was a beast that time), that had tons of sense of humor, that multiplayer was great, the campaign was really good with a sweet level design, both visually and in terms of gameplay. I found myself remembering many of the voices of the computer in your "pod", depending which of the crazy characters and their ships you choose. Sweet old almost Forgotten but still Forsaken game.
