You can get these same games on console platforms in a bundle disc for like $20 at walmart. These games should go for about $15 on PC since it’s cheaper to distribute. Just buy old pc cd bundles off ebay or amazon (there are plenty of them that are drm free) and don’t waste your money with this scam.
Remember Descent where you moved your ship in three dimensions in order to weave around shots coming at you from odd angles? You will find yourself in pretty much the same kind of situation here. This game is a futuristic sub warfare first person game. Combat can get pretty frantic and with all the lasers, torpedoes, bubbles, and stuff flying everywhere it can be a challenge sometimes to setup your shots right. The game is very fun and often overlooked. The story is alright with voice acting that is ok and the interactions between characters isn't the focus of this game. The real meat of the game is darting around in an underwater valley or between buildings in a underwater city while dodging torpedoes and lasers. You even get to customize your submarine a bit to fit the loadout and fighting style you prefer. If you enjoyed Descent and other similar games you're going to have fun with this one.
Painkiller delivers exactly what you'd expect from a game like quake or doom but puts its own humor and twists into it that make it truly its own game. -BLOOD and lots of it. -Screw story, the story is superficial. You died, you kill monsters for God in inhumane ways. Welcome to Hell. -Weapons that make your inner teenage boy squeal such as a stake gun that pins enemies to the wall, a shotgun that can freeze enemies and blast them into frozen chunks, or the painkiller staff which essentially is a blender. -Big bad guys -LOTS of bad guys -Ragdoll physics (this is very fun when you are using the painkiller staff which makes them flop around before their bodies explode) -Collectible cards that you get from completing different challenges in each level that when activated you get special powers or bonuses at the cost of some coins. If you want story, intelligent AI, pacifism, or educational software then go elsewhere. Otherwise enjoy you brainrotting mindless bloody murder game. :D
