The only flaw this game sports is in the title: this is not the sequel to Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2. This is very much its own thing, and superior for it.
Runs great. Plays great. Replays great. They really No Man Skied that botched release into a golden pearl of diamond... something something valuable.
I'd love to have scroll click to toggle cruise control with scroll up to increase and scroll down decrease speed. sadly, this can't be done, as there's no binds for them. otherwise a lot of fun... aside from all the debris. there's way too much debris. it's just insane. instead of debris they should have done gravity well anomalies or whatever. that trap you, slow you down, veer you off course, but all this clutter in space? did ten million spacecraft blow up just last week? man!
Neat. Also addictive. Mainly neat.

You click play. it doesn't start. it doesn't 'start and then crashes', it just 'does nothing'. no amount of fiddling has gotten me closer to playing this game that I've always had my eye on. very disappointing.
it's a freeroam version of a point and click game. it's a leisure suit larry but instead of larry you play as yourself! at first i thought it looked like shovelware trash but just playing it a little, getting the humor of it all, it's nothing short of a labor of love and definitely worth not only your money but a piece of your valuable limited time on this mortal plane. plus the side stories and custom stories, and all the diverging paths to take in the main story, leads to so many hours worth of replayability. just don't use walkthroughs, because you'll spoil the fun of figuring everything out for yourself. there's no moon logic here, everything makes sense, and all you gotta do is keep your eyes and ears open... don't wait for a sale. if anything i've said sounds good to you, buy it today.
i was surprised to see this classic come to GOG with no fanfare! and more surprised still to realize my wired DS4 (no software installed, just wired via usb to charge) worked perfectly with it - it seems they set it up to work right away! must buy if you're into the classics, and check out the other games! blood omen 2's sort of a mixed bag imho but defiance is an incredible game and the soul reaver games are classics in their own right
There is no action or tension in this game. It is about exploring, traversing and scaling the world, learning some of the lore and helping people out. Its visuals are a big selling point as this is something you won't find anywhere else. Must-try!
