As others have mentioned, it looks great and sounds great, but what's the point when the gameplay is bogus; At the end of the day, that's what a game is, and it's just not here. A ton of the recent changes are really cringe as well; feels political / ""inclusive"" at times.

40 Winks in a really charming and delightful platformer that I enjoy revisiting every few years. A handful of diverse locations, with some nice tunes accompanying. While the controls are a little slippery, all the boss battles suck and some of the dream-keys are hidden in really jerk spots, the enemy variety, level design, music and power ups make up for it; Really great title. When you purchase on GOG, you're essentially buying a PS1 ROM + an Emulator. There are much better ways to play this game that the included emulator (retroarch, ODE), but this purchase is great if you'd like to LEGALLY own a ROM for use anywhere.

First and foremost, if you've played the original, and still own the original, there is no point to even trying this. Sure, the graphics are new and shiny, albeit with some strange model redesigns, but the audio is the original compressed quality and Mr. Krabs still has an imitation voice over... I just don't see a reason unless you're a complete super-fan. While I did enjoy my time with the remake, I'd avoid it on GOG if you care about achievements. DRM free is always incredible, but the achievements just don't work. Also, if you're buying this because it has multiplayer.. DO NOT! It's nonsensical and just not fun. This is a purely singleplayer experience. 6.8/10 remake.

I love Powerslave, it's actually one of my favorite shooters; ever. I decided to give this 3 stars however, because the PC version is pretty mediocre when compared to the SEGA Saturn, and even the PS1 version (maybe), but it's still fun. The PC version had terrible strafing and it hasn't been fixed for this release, still. This is the European version, but the listing says 'Powerslave' instead of 'Exhumed'. If you want to play this, I do recommend, but go in realizing you're playing an inferior version. For the true experience, play it on SEGA Saturn. Otherwise, the 'PC' version here is just Egyptian Duke Nukem minus one liners. Like Duke, the story is still interesting.

Red Faction has all the key components to be an amazing game, but the PC version in particular ruins the whole experience. Avoid. This isn't GOG's fault per-say, but the developer as a whole. The PC version, even on era-correct hardware, just won't start; I tried on my XP Gaming rig with a 8800gtx and my 9x machine with a 6600 ultra and..... Nothing. The game just literally won't start without some fan patch installed! (And when using a patch, playing the game is quite useless as it crashes FREQUENTLY!) If you absolutely want to play with keyboard, get the Macintosh version (Mac OS 8+) or just play the Playstation 2 release. Pfft, I had a better time even with the N-Gage version.
