Tales of Monkey Island: Complete Season

Worthy addition to the story

Monkey Island 2 was the first game I ever bought with my own money. I tremendously enjoyed it back then. Same with 1 oder 3 to a slightly lesser degree. 4 and Return disappointed me personally. This one ... for me it is a satisfying conclusion to the saga, although not all puzzles make sense and I usually prefer 2D over 3D adventures. The stakes are quite high, there are some intriguing locations and I liked most of the characters (Morgan especially). It is not a legendary point and click, but I vastly prefer it over Return.

Ankh 2: Heart of Osiris

Okay, not great

If this had included the german version I would have given it four stars like the first game. The english one is ... fine, but I prefer the german voice actors and not every joke lands.

Elroy and the Aliens

Not too hard, but enjoyable

One of the easier point and clicks I've played. I don't mind that though since I value story and characters more than puzzles, especially when I eventually replay them. And those are quite alright. Wouldn't mind learning more about them in a potential sequel. I wouldn't have minded skipping one or two mechanical puzzles, there are QUITE a few, but they are beatable, so it's okay all in all.

The Lamplighters League

Very frustrating, very rewarding

I cursed quite a lot while playing this game. The LONG loading times, the clunky real-time sneaking, important details that aren't explained to you (like that the game DOESN'T immediately end when one of the doomsday clocks reaches full circle), some bonuses/cards VASTLY more useful than others ... but there have also been many satisfying moments, like when a new card had a huge effect or when a certain tactic worked like a charm in the round-based parts. And I must say, I really, really love the 1930s Indy/Cthulhu/steampunk setting and also the different character interactions. I wish the game was a bit more polished and the addon features were there (underground temple setting, trapper character, new enemy faction as I recall), but I've already played it to the end four times, so I guess I still like it more than many other games I own. True diamond in the rough.

Slay the Spire

Schnell zwischendurch

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew

If you like Pirates of the Caribbean ...

... then you might like the setting of this game. I'm okay with it, although I like the more serious one of Shadow Tactics a little better. I've played 10 hours so far and I like the characters with their small mini-quests, although I doubt they'll become deeper than John or Mugen. It's kinda like watching an epic drama (Shadow Tactics) or something like PotC (Gambit) - I like both, and so I've enjoyed each Mimimi game, but I can see why someone may prefer a more serious story or characters. The mechanics work well, if there's anything that I'd currently critizise it's that I personally find the game a little easier than the predecessors due to the far-reaching magical skills of the characters, but that may be subjective (as said, I've only played 10 hours yet and I usually reload until I get an unseen perfect kill). Overall, it's what I wanted from Mimimi, I'm satisfied. And if we get an equivalent to the Baron challenges from Desperados 3 then I'll spend a VERY long time in this game too.
