Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945

This is where it all began...

I don't think there was a better sniping game prior to this one. This is the beginning of a great idea of a WWII sniping, highly improved upon in V2 and greatly exaggerated in III (I haven't played 4 yet). This is how one of my all-time favorite game series started and I like it a lot, despite its rawness. If you play on harder modes, then the bullet cam is way more satisfying and its entertainment value goes off the charts. You can't help but grin after all the preparation for and the anticipation of a perfect execution of a shot. P.S. I agree with nintendoeats's review on that the protagonist was way too cocky in later games and is much more realistic in this one.

STAR WARS™ Episode I: Racer

My favourite racing game ever

Wanna feel like you're moving with 600 mp/h (approx 965 km/h)? Well, that game gives you this feeling. I remember when I was around 11 years old and lied to my grandmother that I "went to take a walk" and was actually spending my time (and her money) in the local PC gaming club playing this lovely game. The soundtrack is great — it's taken directly from the Episode 1: TPM movie (cheers to John Williams). I used to own an old boxed limited edition copy of this game and at some point I was unfortunately forced to sell it. Thank you, GOG, for optimizing this game for modern operating systems! it was a huge challenge to make this run on XP SP3 at some point; I remember that around 2005 or 2006 I was forced to use Debugging Tools for Windows to make this game running on XP SP3 — it was a pain in the ass. The graphics suck, but I don't care. (:

Kerbal Space Program

The best game I've ever encountered

I may be overexcited, but after 50 hours of gameplay, I've never been so happy with a game and so willing to go on for more and more gameplay. I'm a simpleton when it comes to gaming — I play games like GTA IV, Quake III and Diablo II (the latter has eaten a lot of my life since 2001). Kerbal Space Program is, however, my ultimate gaming experience so far. I haven't even sent a probe to the Mun yet, but I have plenty to do before doing that basic (in space exploration terms) thing. Yes, it's basic, because in KSP you have not just Kerbin (Earth), but Kerbol (Sun), Moho (Mercury), Eve (Venus), Gilly, Mun, Minmus, Duna (Mars), Ike, Dres (Ceres), Jool (Jupiter), Laythe, Vall, Tylo, Bop, Pol, Eeloo (Pluto). "With the outermost dwarf planet Eeloo the Kerbol System reaches up to 113 549 713 200 m (about 113.5 Gm or 0.76 AU) out into space". This is A LOT OF STUFF TO EXPLORE. The music is fun, but there should've been more tracks, IMHO. The graphics are OK and are not really important for that kind of game. The game takes 2 GB on your HDD and this deserves my admirations! Don't hesitate to buy this! You will not just have fun, but you will learn new things and will grasp important astrophysical concepts. You have fun and you gain knowledge — this is not something you want to miss. Of course IRL space exploration missions are way more complicated and involve way more resources (money, time and people). Firing a simple sattelite IRL is not a one-man chore, but involves supercomputers that calcute your route and... But, hey, that's just a game and it takes two gigabyes of storage! :D And you still can learn something! For twenty bucks what's there to miss?

Quake III Arena

PURE COCAINE FPS

I love that game. I love that game. Did I mention that I love that game? (: It's simple. It's fast. It's gory. It's raw. It's instinctual. It sounds great — just listen to the beautiful sounds of the rockets comin' right at you (and hopefully miss you!). It's pretty (yes, even in 2018). Unlike many modern shooters and/or action games, it requires actual skill (cheers to all the bunny-hoppers out there). It's awesome. It's crazy. I don't care if you're a Doom fanboy — this is the defition of the FPS genre for me! Counter-Strike is another story (it's team-oriented FPS). You will be railed. You will be gunned. You will be melted. You will be humiliated. WELCOME TO THE ARENA! FIGHT!

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Goofy fun time for a few hours

The game is short, hard and fun. The fun factor wears off very quicky after you complete the game in 2-3 hours. Thus, it is highly recommended to buy this on sale. I enjoyed the upbeat music very much. The voice acting is nice (I really felt like my child is crying for me during the dark level in the aquarium). The story and the general feeling is quirky and I appreciate that.
