Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus

A wonderful decent into the depths!

As a lover of XCOM style turn based combat and as a fan of both the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Necrons, this game checks out all the boxes for me. To the art style to the music, this game oozes with personality. Dupstep mixed with the howls of pipe organs sing you a song of battle against the necron threat. The necrons themselves are fun to fight, each having enough abilities to have you vary your playstyle when fighting them. If you like turn based games and Warhammer 40k, this is a must. (Also get the soundtrack and artbook if you can, you won't regret it!)

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus - Omnissiah Edition

Warhammer 40k is pretty rad.

As a fan of XCom and other turn-base stratedgy games, Warhammer Mechanicus fits really well into the genre. Soundtrack is on a whole new level, with an unholy union of pipe organs and techno that just works. Customizing your little priest is really fun and I imagine it brings the same joy as painting the real life figures. Writing is solid with a creative use of distorted voices for most of the characters. It really is worth every penny. My only complaint is that the soundtrack with the bonus edition is incomplete and is missing songs like Noosphere, which is my favorite song out of the ost.

Oxenfree

Good story, lacks gameplay.

Look, the story and music are top notch. I like the characters and the branching pathes are cool, but... I don't know if I can replay it. Most of the gameplay is just walking and clicking a button prompt sometimes. The main character moves so slow when you're trying to get from one side of the island to the next. I like to 100% games, but doing it here feels like a chore because I'll have to go through all the slow, very slow story beats I've already seen. Great game, great story and great music, it tries replay value but the pacing might be too slow for me to try that.

Blood: Fresh Supply

A much needed Transfusion

This is my first encounter with Blood. I always loved boomer shooters such as these. The only problem I had with games of this era is the varity of quality when it comes to ports. Blood (despite the buggyness) is the smoothest to play. Bugs are being fixed constantly, so hopefully soon that won't be an issue. It's just so fun to play. The gunplay is smooth and most weapons have a punch to them. The only weapon I don't like very much is the life leach. It doesn't do enough damage as I would have like and feels stiff to fire compared to the other guns on offer. Best part is, there are mods for this game that are as big as full on expansion packs. Stuff like Deathwish and Cult just give you more blood with fantastic levels. The fun never ends!
