The game is by all means a masterpiece. Its biggest asset is the gorgeous graphics. The music is also really nice. Gameplay is good. However... I personally don't like the story, it's too fictional. Undead pirates, cartoony zealots, talking ship. In this sense it is still inferior to Desperados III, which is, in my opinion Mimimi's greatest achievement.
The developers took to approach to not create a proper tutorial and not help the player understand what he needs to do. There are no clear objectives, the aids on the screen are cryptic and not explained. The player just wonders around like an idiot, not knowing what he is supposed to do. The game is frustrating and boring from the beginning. I did not like it at all.
Desperados III is hands on the best game of its genre released so far. As a big fan of the Commandos series I have been waiting for a long time for a game which is of the same type but even better than the Commandos games. It is finally here. The previous incarnations of the Desperados series were good but Desperados III is truly a masterpiece. The story, the graphics, the gameplay are all excellent. So far I have completed 7 missions and I could not find anything to complain about. It is a truly beautiful and thrilling game.
