Mafia: Definitive Edition

A TOMMY GUN!!!!

You get to shoot Tommy Guns from the hip and that makes me the Big happy (the rest of the games pretty good too)

Beyond: Two Souls

Batshit insane but I love it.

The title says it all, this is one of the most tonally inconsistant, completely random, batshit insane games I have ever played and I loved every second of it. I played the game in the Original order first time around (I 100% intent to play this game again later) and I highly recommend it, the seemingky random order of events honestly leaves you questioning whether or not your even playing the same game and honestly I found that so entertaining. In terms of performances, its a mixed bag, Elliot Page gives a mixed performance, sometimes it really works and other times it feels like he is sleepwalking throughout. Willem Dafoe on the overhand was phenominal, he gave it his all 100% of the time and you can really hear the hurt in his voice. Graphically it is also very pleasing although there are some Artifacts i noticed while playing, with plenty of Z-fighting especially near the endgame. The game plays well on a 21:9 display as well, I personally had no problems. Overall play this game if you like batshit insane stories.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Fantastic, if flawed

Honestly, the game is great, it expands on the first game in the way every sequal should, they also got rid of the rather forced french accents in the english VO which makes the performances much more impactful IMO. My biggest issues honestly come with the games pacing, specifically in the third act, it starts of so well and then is just kinda just a mad dash to the finish. I honestly think there was a cut level or something before the final mission because the fight with The Count just kinda comes out of nowhere. The ending does kinda make up for it, being rather impactful emotionally, however i was left with this feeling of wanting more from the game in the end. Graphically this game is BEAUTIFUL... although, i do kinda prefer how the first game looks, this one just looks a bit too noisy from his TAA implemention. Thats not to say it doesn't look gorgous, it definitally does, but I found myself not taking in the environments nearly as much as I did in the first game. Overall, 100% recommend giving this game a shot, especially if you are a fan of the first.

Little Nightmares II

Great, but frustrating at times.

Honestly, I really dig this game, however, certain points leave me perplexed, like the combat. Despite being rather sparce and rare, i never looked foraward to the combat as I felt that it robbed the game of the puzzle like experience that was present in the first.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Fantastic, but flawed

A beautiful game that has some issues. Since its a story focused experience thats where most of the focus of this review will be (I'll try too keep it spoiler free). The story is rather heartfelt, however, i do feel that its pacing is a bit rushed, specifically in the last few chapters. I also wish there was a bit more of a focus on the relationships between the protaginists and the side-charectors as most of it seems to happen off screen. The game also takes a huge tonel shift by the end point, what started out as a borderline thriller experience turns into a wierd power fantasty which honestly doesn't really hit with me. My favourite parts of the game were near the start as you felt the most disempowered, and could really feel the overwhelming threat of the games antagonists. I also had a little bit of an issue with the acting, most of the time it works, but sometimes the almost exagerrated french accents took me out of the experience. I honestly reccomend switching the audio to French, now I don't speak French, but I feel the french acting is superior to the english. The only downside to this (if your a boring english speaker like me) is that your attention will be drawn to the subtitles and you will miss out on the Fantastic visuals and environments this game has.
