I was waiting for this game after the success they had in his Kickstarter campaing, now I can play it and I must say that that wait was worth it. The art, the main pillar of the game, it's just beatiful and all I've to say is that it clearly see the effort they put on every sprite, animation and all the atmosphere behind that; for me, the best of the game without doubt, and all this perfectly accompained by a very good music and even better lore. Maybe the weakest part is the gameplay, the level design and boss fights are really good and challenging however regular enemies can become repetitive sometimes, but being honest, that never was the strong point of a metroidvania game (the challenge was always in the design of the levels, not the enemies). This game has far exceeded my expectations in every single point (and I totally recommend it).
"Hey, buy The Witcher 3 already", "didn't play The Witcher 3, are you serious?", "what are you doing that you haven't bought The Witcher 3 yet?" and this every god damn year since it's on sale. Indeed, I don't know either why I didn't play if before because this game is a completly masterpiece. The stories that are not even in the main line are fantastic and really inmersive, the wild and massive open world where I could spend easily 30h just going around with Roach, and graphics in 4k are just beautiful. Don't even finish the game or play the DLCs (but I know they also are another two jewels) and I already love it. And now I'm the one who must ask you: "what are you doing that you haven't bought this game yet?
What can I say, the art is simply wonderful and the gameplay really attractive. I never was a strategical player, but you have to think twice what to do in every turn because the consequences are no joke. As I said before, I'm a nooby of this kind of games, and even in the easiest difficulty, this game is really challenging (something they warn you in the very beginning of the game), you'll have to suffer hard defeats in order to progress. I don't find this a bad point of the game, but probably other players as green as me could see it really frustating and I don't blame them for that. Difficulty apart, a must-play game for dark atmosphere fans.
And like Season 1, the story don't dissapoint at all, good continuation and better puzzles to resolve. I'm really glad I decided to buy the full game because you can see perfectly how you don't need amazing graphics (must say I personally love this pixelart) to tell amazing stories in this case. And probably the most difficult moments of this one is not click to play the next episode. My congrats to the dev team, well done (again). The worst point of this game: it ends. Or maybe not?
Honestly, I've never was a point&click games fan, but since I started to play this I had the need to continue the story as much as the protagonist himself, and that feel was an incredible experience. And constantly atmosphere of being around the horror but can't really see it is amazing. Of course I recommend this game, maybe a little bit short for me (due to my "voracity" to play it), but totally worth it.
