Heretic + Hexen

Medieval Doom! "Are they ready to die?"

Is it worth 15 euros? Probably if you have not played the original games and you are a retro gamer but remember this is not a remaster, not a "definitive edition" meaning "upscaled graphics", they are some control and framerate improvements and they made the game easier giving aid for the puzzles (the reason I haven't complete Hexen, I was lost around the middle of the game!). Not a remaster or something like that but they are some cool features I mentioned +mod support, two new episodes I look forward to play, fully controller support and multiplayer! Give it a try if you got it for free (I did), wait for sale if you are sceptic (understandable, those are old games). I would still prefer a nice remaster and one can only hope for Hexen III but still I take it!

Lorelai

For story enthusiasts

Is not a bad game, is story focused of course but I found it's story lackluster compare to the excellent "The Cat Lady". I recommend it only if you want to experience a dark depressed story, as it's puzzle are way too easy and straightforward. It can give you "The Cat Lady" vibes and even there is a connection between the two games, if you liked "The Cat Lady" you will probably like this game too but expect from Lorelai to be inferior on everything, atmosphere, story, puzzles, length, don't expect to play a gem like "The Cat Lady" is. There is also a reference to "The Cat Lady", an Easter Egg that made me laugh! No other game has done that! Overall a good game but more like a "walking simulator" rather than a classic adventure because of how easy it is. It has some branches on how the story will unfold depending on your choices that I found clever and also very good soundtrack, give it a try if you like this kind of games and of course if you like the gem "The Cat Lady"...!

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest

Timeless Classic!

I have the games on a CD-ROM but I decided to buy them here on GoG. My biggest complaint was the lack of iron sight aim, with this version of the GoG store you can easily install two files that add iron sight to the base game AND work with the two expansions as well! (even though the modder says they work only for the base game). Just put the files on the folder "mainta" and "maintt" too and not only on the "main". For 1080p resolution with no black bars copy-paste seta r_customheight "1080" seta r_customwidth "1920" seta r_mode "-1" on "main/config/ununnamedsoldier.cfg" (on top of "//") Totally worth to discover or revisit these classic FPS games, I wish the campaigns had other nations too and not just USA though...

Cossacks II Anthology

Unique formation-based RTS

Amazing games, deserve a remake. The gameplay is based upon formations, timing your attacks and managing your resources via stationary points that can be captured by the enemy. The campaign missions can last long because AI just throws enemy formations upon you quite fast, you have to play fast to overcome it. The Battle for Europe TBS map is awesome and my favorite part in Cossacks 2, you can play with many nations and the outcome of the campaign is determined on fast Real-Time battles with the troops you initiated the attack with. The downside is that most of the units between nations are reskin, you don't have many strategic choice as to how many or what type of troops you carry and the map is quite small with many nations just surrendering to you when you snowball it... I hope in a future remake they rework it, add more unique units and more areas to make it more challenging and last longer. Cossacks 2 has also EXCELLENT soundtrack, albeit few but memorable tracks. Is a game that truly deserves a remake to bring it to modern age (because you can and may encounter some technical errors...).
