I love the DMC games, all of them. These HD GOG versions look and play fantastic. I'm only on the first one. But it looks so good that I might even think it was a much newer game if I didn't know better. No controller issues that I can see either. 10/10 GOG! Its great to be able to play these again on modern systems and in widescreen to boot.

My very first city builder was the original SimCity. It ran under early MS DOS, was black and white and low resolution by today's standards. I had never played a game like it. I used to leave it running, while I went to work, to see what would happen by the time I got home. I even used to print out huge versions of the city map, on a dot matrix printer, to tape together and hang up. I loved it. Since then, there have been many city builders and newer versions of SimCity. None of them really excited me in the same way as that original SimCity. Smart City Plan does that. That's why I gave it 5 stars. It isn't just a copy though. Features - Easy to get going and start a city. - Common sense visual placing of zones, streets and other elements. - Easy to see or find out what is going on with your city. - Information, so you know about what is needed, is very helpful without being overwhelming. - Useful overlays, that show the status of various elements, are easy to use and access. Aesthetics - Graphics are very pleasing and varied. They are a good combination of detailed and stylized to give the impression of what it is. That way, you can easily see what is going on in different parts of the city. - The screen is well laid out. The menu, or info, you need is visible without overly obscuring the screen. No annoying menus that you constantly have to open or that popup. - Instead of focusing on photo realism, SCP animation indicates what is going on. For instance, cars do not show every car on the street. They merely represent the amount that there are or where there is congestion. - You can adjust the size of the UI to be easier to read take up less of the screen. - You can name each of the buildings. That name shows up on the map. A bit of personalization. - Things grow or build or develop over time. They don't just instantly happen. TLDR: Loved the original SC? You will love SCP. Not dull. Give it a chance.

I'm an older gamer who plays all kinds of modern games. I have played, and replayed games like Heretic, Hexen and Doom many times. Those are kind of core games for me. They had a certain sensibility and structure that never gets old. I had given up on anyone being able to understand that mix, until now. For me, those factors were: 1) A real 3D world. Everything you see is "real" and can be jumped on or run in to. You are able to crouch or hide behind the environment. 2) Almost realistic physics. Meaning, overall very realistic. Unrealistic in ways that enhance gameplay like being able to run over small objects without jumping or falling from great heights without being killed. A decent jump/running jump. Water good. Fire bad and so on. 3) "Shots" fired at you can be dodged or avoided if you see them and are quick enough. 4) Enemies are smart enough to chase you, sometimes even to a different area or to open a door. But you can outrun almost all of them. Some are smart enough to circle behind. Each enemy has a distinctive sound when they show up or attack. 5) Levels are symmetrical, to some extent and puzzle orientated. Secrets are tough, but not mind bending. They are more about you paying attention than solving an obtuse puzzle. There are enigmatic inscriptions, throughout, 6) Very little in the realm of timed activities. 7) You can clean out an area of enemies so you can finish exploring it. Games where enemies randomly come back are very frustrating to me. The reason i laid out all these features is because Amid Evil has all these things and more.. There are so many nods to those older games. Not only do I appreciate them, but it is so fun to come across them. So I don't want to spoil them for anyone. Finally, the graphics are superb. Its fun just to run around a level that I've cleared just to look at it more closely. I bought this game on Steam. and GOG to make sure I always have a copy. See if you don't love it too.

I have never played one of Telltale's story games before. However, I love all of the Borderlands games and DLCs. I have logged many, many hours playing them. I love the game play of course, but also the story background, graphic and situation esthetic and humor too. So I was not very confident that someone could recreate that. But a couple of trailers, and the GOG sale, convinced me to try it. I am really glad that I did! This simplest thing I could say is that if you love Borderlands, you will love Tales From the Borderlands. It feels like playing a real Borderlands game and hearing a new story too. I don't know how far I am, but I have played a couple of hours so far. Here is what I like: 1) Graphically and design wise, it looks and feels just like a real Borderlands game. - It does look a tad cleaner 2) Characters feel like real Borderlands characters - Including the cool splash screens every time a new one is introduced. 3) Many, many Borderlands features and tropes are present. It is so cool when I see something that is right out of the game. This includes locations as well events. 4) The humor mix is just right. - I love Borderlands humor. But, sometimes it goes over the top even for me. (One example would be in BTPS(?) where you hear a recording of children crying because their parents are being experimented on.) So far, I haven't run into anything like that in Tales. 5) Finally, the interactive action and the ability to search areas for more information or just more story is great. What I don't like: 1) Nothing - Well, I would like a little more time to make story decisions. So, once again, if you love Borderlands games, I don't see how you could not like this.
