Super fun little roguelike, just enough luck to feel different each time, and more than enough skill to keep it satisfying, highly recommend!
An interesting game to look back at, it is such a transitionary shooter stuck somewhere between classic 90s shooters and the new style of cinematic campaigns from halo or call of duty. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. The setting is very cool and the graphics hold up surprisingly well, and if you are willing to put in the time to get EAX sound working it sounds great too, the guns very wildly from the shotgun feeling like a jackhammer to the rail gun feeling like a nerf blaster. I'd say give it a try if you're interested in the history and evolution of the FPS genre, but if you're just a casual FPS player there are better options out there.
I'd give it 3 and a half if I could, I think the vibe and look of the game are great, and I liked the exploration, but it does get a little repetitive towards the end as the game is quite casual and you can't really fail which takes the tension out of it once you figure it out.
